  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The Preezy of the United Steezy want's you to get your CD-5 buffoon under control.

At a closed-door meeting between President Barack Obama and House Democrats, Kildee introduced himself as a freshman, to which Obama said, "Wow, you're really classing up the place then."

Kildee then proceeded to ask what one person described as a somewhat "long-winded" question about the importance of creating jobs for his economically distraught district.

"I can tell you're a freshman because you didn't pay much attention to the State of the Union," Obama joked. "I talked about that."

    ....

Actually, though, the joke was on Obama:  REST HERE

    Oops.

A reminder of the results of CRONY CAPITALISM.

As we have seen recently, the Chinese were subsidized and transferred Battery Technology by Taxpayers through the likes of the MEDC and Federal programs interfering with free markets. It was pretty bad, but ..

    It wasn't the first time.

Oh.. and take note of the Chinese defense contractors operating in Michigan.

Rep Miller Response To Obama Sequester Complaints

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today released the following statement in response to President Obama's call for replacing the pending automatic federal spending cuts, known as the "sequester," set to go into effect this year:

"In speaking today about the pending spending cuts that will result if the sequester goes into effect on March 1st, President Obama left out three key facts:  One, that the sequester was included in the Budget Control Act at the suggestion of his Administration;  Two, that U.S. House Republicans have twice passed legislation to enact more responsible cuts and reforms to replace the sequester, H.R.5652 and H.R.6684, but the U.S. Senate refused to take action on either bill;  And three, that in 2013 the Congressional Budget Office projects that the federal government will take in more in tax receipts than ever before which makes it clear that the American people aren't taxed too little, the problem is that the government spends too much.
    Indeed.

"It is time for President Obama and Congressional Democrats to finally come to grips with the pressing need to reduce federal spending.  It is long past time for the U.S. Senate to pass legislation to eliminate the sequester, as the U.S. House has already done twice, if they believe more responsible cuts must be found.  And instead of pointing fingers of blame, President Obama needs to take responsibility for the sequester which his Administration proposed and show Congress and the American people the cuts to spending that he would prefer.  All President Obama did today was to attempt to frighten Americans to support his effort to again raise taxes to support higher government spending.  That is not a solution to our problems."

    Yup.

Another armed robbery has been reported in Mount Pleasant.

Students received an alert about an armed robbery near Mission and Broadway Street about 1.5 miles north of Central Michigan University's campus.

Police say a Hispanic or white man entered a Check N Cash, took out a hand gun, and demanded money.

The man took an undetermined amount of money before fleeing on foot west of the business.

Police described the man to be about 30 years old, about 5'10", with a thin to medium build.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored coat, blue with white striped athletic pants, and a blue and black plaid baseball cap with ear flaps.

This is the fifth armed robbery in Mount Pleasant in the past three days.

Campus Lizards Promoting Fuel Tax Hikes

    Our tax dollars at work...

"Fair share" without repealing Prevailing Wage on the table, Mr. Zang?  If that isn't a load of Granholm-sized mental masturbating psychobabble, I don't know what is.  Nice try, Gov. Snydholm, but your taxpayer funded mob-rule bus tour for tax hikes would even make Obama blush with your blundering heavy-handed propaganda.

Snyder can't get his Exchange, and expansion of Medicaid abyss sitting Sen. Kahn's lap when Snyder has his Sales Tax, and Fuel Tax Hike scheme sitting in Sen. Kahn's lap too, so Slick Snyder scrapped Repeal of Prevailing Wage.  The Governerd played right into the Democrats hands unwittingly, or not.  More importantly, the Governerd is filling the goonion coffers for the Michigan Democratic Party voting base.  Talk about being "divisive," Governerd?

Folks on the Right in this state should never wonder how we ended up with a loser like Jim Blanchard, winning Office.

    Teamsters Image Rehab

Another Hoffa lives in denial of his thug legacy.

    Detroit News

"We're trying to keep my grandfather's reputation back where it belongs," said his grandson, Geoffrey Hoffa, a physician assistant in Arizona. "Most people hear the name Jimmy Hoffa and have a negative image. They hear the Letterman jokes. It's a shame that people don't know more about what James R. Hoffa did and that he always stood up for the underdog."

I wonder why the negative image keeps coming up when Hoffa is mentioned...

Underdogs? They're called goonions for a reason, Geoffrey. It's also why Chicago/White House thuggery comes home to roost with the Johnson/Smoot MDP leadership infighting.
