So far.
Former Detroit Mayor and trendsetter Kwame Kilpatrick got what he earned (again) yesterday with a 28 year sentence for being a good Democrat. In other news, a pay for play [victim] complains: "Construction company Walbridge wants as much as $5 million in restitution that prosecutors want awarded to Detroit because company officials argue the firm was victimized by Kilpatrick's criminal scheme."Really, we gone THAT far over the edge. Its even asked: "Legal expert Peter Henning has said the companies involved in the conspiracy were going to be needed by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office to help prosecute the case and that it's "hard to distinguish" whether the payer of a bribe is also culpable of a crime.God help us. Yes. GOD help us, as the US justice department would have to set a new standard unseen in the last 5 years; prosecuting itself, and its employer. Was away from everything news related for the past few days, and not to be surprised with my return to an interesting blurb in mLive the other day (Nope. Not linking to them) that it is still SSDD in the sociopathic world of politics.
"The emergency manager has met with the White House and members of the state's congressional delegation, and these meetings focused on how the federal government can assist in Detroit's restructuring," said Orr's spokesperson Bill Nowling in an email message. "At each of those meetings it was made clear that a federal bailout is not a possibility." Let that sink in.
Nobody is interested in bailing out LBJ's "model city" Detroit. N-O-B-O-D-Y. Sure, the Congressional Black Caucus has gone whining to race-baiter-in-chief, president Odowngrade², with JoAnn's "bring home some bacon" meme, but that narrative is as common as the sun rising in the East. Besides, preezy Soetoro's agenda is already booked with making this entire nation look like Detoilet, so, how in the Hell can he bail out Detoilet? Barry can't. All of D.C. knows that bailing out Detoilet is opening Pandora's box. Think Killadelphia isn't just around the corner on going teats up? Think again. It is poison for the However, click on the Full Story button. I want you all to meet a very real-life Charlie Gordon character from Daniel Keyes' award winning short story. "This is Detroit, Michigan, this is the hungry Capitol of the world and, we will come in there and squat in your house if you're not home."
"Stay on your property before your copper comes up missing"? Those kind of events happen even with highly compensated Executive Protection while on the premises. Congratulations on being #8 in the world here too, Detoilet. The only exit question I have is, when did downstate "professional" news reporters officially start using Ebonics? Yes something that should have been done .. oh perhaps a few years ago.
Solving a number of crimes? Maybe.
The back story is the epic of liberalism allowed to be unchecked in our midst for decades. Priorities of self gratification for Detroit's elected miscreants and bureaucrats has taken its toll. As for the nerd? We'll have more on him in the next few days. (1 comment) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
SE Michigan Democrat state representatives apparently have a new plan for retirement. Criminal enterprise.
A story about a drug bust in Detroit offhandedly mentions the aspirations of a former Michigan State Representative (Democrat) who like so many of his criminal minded brethren have little regard for rule of law or the health and well being of our youth. From MLIVE: "Powell and 11 other suspects, including former State Rep. Ken Daniels of Detroit, face a host of federal charges, including conspiracy to distribute more than 30 grams of heroin, 12 kilograms of cocaine, 1,000 pounds of marijuana and money laundering in excess of $21 million." Isn't that special? Daniels, who has a saying on his website "It takes teamwork to make the dream work" talks about public safety on that same site: "The safety of our citizens is a number one priority. Many people in our communities have been impacted by crime. We need to take steps to create policies, not only in Lansing, but in our local communities, to help reduce crime. As your State Senator, I want to work on various programs that will rehabilitate inmates in our correctional facilities, so that they don't commit more crimes once they are released. I will work hard to secure funding for more police officers and place them in high crime areas in our communities. We are dealing with a cycle of crime, especially in Detroit and it is time for us to take our neighborhoods back. But it all starts with new policies at the local and state level." New policies. Well, I guess the 3rd place drubbing he received in the 2010 senate primary bid (he lost to Bert Johnson) really motivated him to seek alternate campaign financing resources. If I am figuring this right, $21,000,000.00 is $1,750,000.00 for each of those folks busted. Why for THAT kind of cash he could have been planning to primary against Debbie Stabenow for HER stake in the federal criminal enterprise! While the former state rep offers himself as a sacrifice to increase feelings of self worth in our drug teams, we give him credit for toting the Democrat line to the "T." Criminal enterprise fits them so well. (4 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
RightMichigan.com will be there tonight.
There is much to say about Michigan as it begins the second year under governor Rick Snyder. But one cannot say that "nothing has been done." To be sure, there are disagreements with the priorities the nerd governor has gone after. This site, and many conservatives, question his desire to [effectively] relinquish the private property of one particular bridge owner. We often have commentary that questions the new taxes on seniors and other adjustments which seem to be readjusting burdens instead of reducing real spending. THOSE concerns looking at the disparate income levels of unionized public workers to the private ones of similar tasks, who pay the bill ultimately. And those unfortunately, not addressed and considered taboo so far, such as right to work, or the more pressing need to reign in the forced unionism debacle perpetrated on home health care workers. Snyder has hit the ground running with regard to school reform however, and the state had a budget in record time with the new legislative body in place as well. A couple of key appointments, Maura Corrigan to head human services, and the good choice of Brian Zahra to replace her ion the supreme court has turned out to be an excellent allocation of resources. The EFM framework is something that was desperately needed, and it too can be seen as a positive step forward. Tonight he will undoubtedly bring a positive focus to many of those things we can agree upon, and maybe a little spin on our issues of disagreement. Apparently however, he is expected to mention the high crime rates that were likely exacerbated by policies of the previous administration, and an increased attempt to curb its effect. If you are in Brighton schools, you probably got a nasty illegal postcard spreading misinformation and disinformation about John Conely, courtesy of the MEA or its affiliate. This isn't the first time the MEA broke the law in their mailings. More information on that previous illegal mailing is here and here
Here's the front of the postcard with the name and address retracted.

What the hell is going on in Flint?
With 50 murders this year alone, one wonders if Michiganders should even get anywhere near this war zone. And apparently NEAR is enough, is enough to get you hurt: Rison said today that she spoke to a woman in her 80s this weekend who told her about a stray bullet ending up in her home. Just shooting.. Oh, and before someone goes all crazy with a "guns are bad, m'kay" comment, let me point out the story is about calling in the Michigan Guard.. An ARMED force.. That uses GUNS.. To defend people.. People, who apparently are not armed enough to defend themselves.. Which wouldn't need to happen if law enforcement would do its job. The prosecutors office can claim that it has had it's budget cut, but deals with murderers do not exactly send a message that leads to less work for them later. more...
