So far.
Former Detroit Mayor and trendsetter Kwame Kilpatrick got what he earned (again) yesterday with a 28 year sentence for being a good Democrat. In other news, a pay for play [victim] complains: "Construction company Walbridge wants as much as $5 million in restitution that prosecutors want awarded to Detroit because company officials argue the firm was victimized by Kilpatrick's criminal scheme."Really, we gone THAT far over the edge. Its even asked: "Legal expert Peter Henning has said the companies involved in the conspiracy were going to be needed by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office to help prosecute the case and that it's "hard to distinguish" whether the payer of a bribe is also culpable of a crime.God help us. Yes. GOD help us, as the US justice department would have to set a new standard unseen in the last 5 years; prosecuting itself, and its employer. Once in a while we need to be reminded that the lefties HATE plant food.
Badly enough to risk Michigan manufacturing jobs as I have pointed out before: "Its a sure bet Michigan jobs will go away in certain parts of the upper peninsula, and given the backhanded way in which the current white house occupiers pee where they eat, it is likely not an isolated concern.¹ A billion here, a billion there. Hardly any pressure on the working stiffs when those costs are passed along.Right. Congress had already done its snow job pre-2010 election however. And today, President Obama will unveil his plan to bypass Congress to force a radical climate change plan which will have devastating ramifications for Michiganders.
Democrat Gary Peters (as with many others) worked to help elect Barack Obama, and as a Congressman, bears his own responsibility for setting the liberal enviro-whacko policy agenda that will destroy jobs, raise energy costs, and hurt working families in states like Michigan. Peters has been a loyal supporter of President Obama's liberal agenda, voting with him nearly 90% of the time, including on extreme climate change measures that would hurt Michigan's economy. Peters "proudly" supports the egregiously costly Cap and Trade legislation that work destroy jobs and raise taxes on middle class families and workers. Seriously, No Joke.
Gov. Rick Snyder will call in federal reinforcements to help convince a recalcitrant Republican-majority Legislature to accept money to expand Medicaid. Exactly how many "skunk work" projects does the Governerd have, Rich? TEA folk, if being the target of the IRS isn't enough to rally a display of Gadsden's, then this fifth column Progressive Nerd within the state Republican Party bringing in the most corrupt White House our nation has ever seen to browbeat our representative voice in the legislature had best activate your presence in Lansing, post haste! Stand with them - they stopped the Nerd. Bobby Schostak, your silence with Snyder's Obamacare entanglement demands is appalling. You're a complete disgrace as Party Chair. Un-fu@%ingbelievable. This column by Nolan Finley of the Detroit News draws some uncomfortable parallels between the current presidential race and Michigan's 2006 gubernatorial race between Jennifer Granholm and Dick DeVos.
Finley: Obama using Granholm's playbook In both races, there was a charismatic but incompetent democrat incumbent running against a Republican rich businessman challenger. In both cases, the democrats blamed the preceding Republican for the poor state of the economy and claimed that it would otherwise be worse. They attacked the Republican challengers for being rich and falsely claimed they outsourced jobs. Of course, there are some differences as well. Romney has actually won an election before, and he has a much broader fundraising base. 2006 was an anti-republican wave, which 2012 shows no signs of being. The strategy of letting a bad economy sink an incumbent certainly can work. But it can also fail if the incumbent is clever enough about blaming others for the economic problems and insisting that "it would have been worse otherwise" (which cannot be conclusively disproven, after all). Gary Peters claims that he saved the auto industry in Michigan, however the real story has a very different ending. The truth is that Gary Peters is proud of making loan guarantees through the bill he authored titled the Advanced Vehicle Technology Act.
Where did some of that loan money go? To create manufacturing jobs. Overseas. In Finland. (3 comments, 321 words in story) Full Story By KG One, Section Multimedia
