Apparently the RNC has awarded a number of vulnerable Dems a special award for their participation in the American catastrophe known as Obamacare.

" Rebecca Coffman, a press assistant at the RNC ..  holding the trophy outside Senator Mary Landrieu's office before presenting it to one of her staffers. "We'd like to present Senator Landrieu with the Lie of the Year award on behalf of the Republican National Committee," she said.

"Ok," said the staffer.

"For lying to her constituents about keeping their plans-"

"Alright," he said.

"On behalf of the Republican National Committee," she concluded.

Another staffer laughed. "That's pretty funny!" he said.

"It is," said the first.

Others were less appreciative.

The receptionist for Senator Mark Begich, a vulnerable Alaska Democrat, was particularly unamused. "You're kind of a jerk," he told Coffman after accepting the trophy

Saul Anuzis former RNC committeeman still has it in for the man who replaced him, OR he really does like promotion of homosexuality, and that which it carries in its side car.  Either way, he has made his bed with Dennis Lennox, and other young progressives in the party who wish to pander to the baser instincts of the forbidden fruits.

But ignoring the results of such pandering and adjustment of social conscience to the legal protections we afford our youth is some bad Juju.  Just ask prosecutors in Florida:

"The case involves Kaitlyn Ashley Hunt, an 18-year-old in Sebastian, Florida, who was arrested in February after admitting that she had a lesbian affair with a 14-year high-school freshman. .. It is a felony in Florida to have sex with 14-year-olds. Hunt was expelled from Sebastian High School -- where she and the younger girl had sex in a restroom stall -- and charged with two counts of "felony lewd and lascivious battery on a child." The charges could put Hunt in prison for up to 15 years.  ..

Using the slogan "Stop the Hate, Free Kate" ..

Portraying Hunt as the victim of prejudice, her supporters claim she was only prosecuted because she is homosexual and because the parents of the unnamed 14-year-old are "bigoted religious zealots," as Hunt's mother said in a poorly written Facebook post. The apparent public-relations strategy was described by Matthew Philbin of Newsbusters: "If you can play the gay card, you immediately trigger knee-jerk support from the liberal media and homosexual activists anxious to topple any and all rules regarding sex."

Rules mean NOTHING when reason is toppled. In the above case, we see the natural progress of 'political correctness.'

Some reminders of history, lest they be repeated, obviously need reflection:

1969-1982:  William G. Milliken.  Thirteen years in Office.  Environmental extremist.  Chummy chum chum's with perhaps the most corrupt Mayor of Detroit ever.  But, it was smart of 'ol milquetoast Willy, that was his voting base.  Kerry backer... Granholm backer... Obama backer... As Paul Ryan would say about Newt Gingrich, "With friends like him..."  How this twaddling old tool still keeps calling himself a Republican is beyond disgusting.

Helen Milliken a proud eugenicist?  You betchya!  Not supposed to mention such atrocities... Shhhhhhhhh!  And, how can one forget...

Now, wayward, petty, and pedantic child, you carry on with that polarizing the MI-GOP into obsolescence.

Starting today, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is launching robocalls and targeted Facebook posts urging Americans to call their representatives and ask why they supported President Obama's lie that people could keep their healthcare plans under ObamaCare.  

The RNC is targeting eleven Democrats who support ObamaCare, including nine U.S. Senators who voted in 2010 to make it more difficult for Americans to keep their insurance. The effort includes Senators Mark Warner (VA), Mark Begich (AK), Dick Durbin (IL), Kay Hagan (NC), Mary Landrieu (LA), Jeff Merkley (OR), Mark Pryor (AR), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), and Mark Udall (CO), as well as Representatives Bruce Braley (IA) and Gary Peters (MI).

Peters' targeted call script?:

"I'm calling from the RNC.  President Obama and the Democrats said you could keep your healthcare plan under ObamaCare. Now we know REPRESENTATIVE PETERS actually made that same promise. Call REPRESENTATIVE PETERS at (313) 964-9960 and ask why he lied. This call was paid for by the RNC (866) 279-8125.

Call those who voted for it in the first place and ask why THEY lied as well as the boss liar.  Make them explain how they could not have known, unless of course they were not reading the bill, in which case they should resign right away as inept negligent, and incapable of service as a US representative or senator..

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus says

"We now know the President's repeated promise that Americans could keep their insurance plans if they liked them was a blatant lie. In 2010 President Obama and the Democrats were warned about this very issue and deliberately chose to make it more difficult for Americans to keep their insurance. Americans should call their representatives and ask why they supported the ObamaCare lie."

Though not a fan of Robocalls personally, I agree that the RNC needs to capitalize on the southward jet-stream momentum of the liar in chief.

One might think that would be the common sense shared by our state leadership, and given the fickle nature of Michigan, an absolute winner for protecting our future generations from abuses like those suffered 2002-2010.  Its a known conservative-Republican postulate.  Harder to raise taxes = better government.

But Republican platforms, principles, goals, don't seem to be in line with one prominent politician.  Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, answering a series of questions on the ballot proposals uses the canard that the MBT would not have been eliminated if prop 5 was already in place:

"Snyder: This isn't just about tax increases. On the face of it, some people may think this is a good thing. But this really would impact many fashions of tax reform or actually tax reductions, because it talks about any increase in rate or base. To use one illustration, we would still have the Michigan Business Tax today, which I don't think anyone would want. That was a disaster. That didn't pass by a two-thirds margin, and this requirement would have applied because we replaced it with a 6 percent net income tax for corporations that was simpler, fairer and more efficient. "

Of course, forgetting to say that with a prop 5 type of rule in effect,  the MBT would NOT have been enacted in the first place.  Granholm's hands would have been tied.  She would have had to face the tough cuts that this state needs in its social program structure and government accountability for expenditures.

In fact, some might even look so far back as to when the Michigan imposition of a state income tax of 2 percent on individuals, 3 1/2 percent on corporations, and 6 percent on financial institutions was enacted.

Yeah, I went there.

This is about party kakistocracy.

The antics by rules committee folks to hold power in the hands of a certain few are designed to keep a succession scheme working.  In Michigan, it was the DELEGATE scandal.  In Tampa it was what we see in the following video.

There is an imperative to remove Obama.  Voting for Mittens and Ryan will be the only way this happens for now.  Mitt might well be a great president, and Ryan hold even greater promise to many.  However, the power struggle within the party makes a great case for those who would think about crossing over and casting their not-Obama vote.  It was stated clearly in a single tweet:

"If this is how Republicans treat their own, what might we expect for independents and Democrats"

That video taped teleprompter was a Breitbart moment.  It was the truth for all to see. And it shows an utter disregard for the grassroots and their efforts to bring this country back into some semblance of what it once was. The thought that Republican leadership would do the right thing now a faded idealistic notion.
