Those words in the most appropriate context were used by he VP pick Paul Ryan last evening in Tampa.
When he said: "....that's freedom, and I'll take it any day over the supervision and sanctimony of the central planners"The crowd erupted. I openly cheered from my easy chair. He touched on a point that is relevant no matter whom the leadership might be. The interference and 'concern' over the affairs of our lives is too often conflicting with the independence we claim as our birthright. Some folks forget that we have to be able to fail. That risk and reward is a part of the American dream. That sometimes, our decisions make us healthy, and sometimes not. Its NOT government's place to provide a boost for a business. Its NOT government's place to control the healthcare choices through exchanges or limitations on where one buys insurance or the care itself. Its NOT the government's place to provide housing. Nor is it government's place to control the terms of employment, and compensation that business provides. Ryan is correct. Republicans in Michigan and elsewhere ought to take note of the future VP's comments and internalize them.
Its no longer acceptable (as if it ever was) to pretend the good of all requires the abrogation of certain rights. And to laud an 'knowing better than thou' attitude over those who assert such rights is indeed sanctimonious. (1 comment) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News

If one was to forget about February 29, life goes on for those who simply had to stonewall.
Some of those who pretend they deserve the leadership positions within the Michigan GOP probably wish the issue could be silently allowed to pass on. The campaign which had been affected most directly has already made a point that it takes such underhanded manipulation of the rules a little more seriously. Only a few days ago, the story began appearing in the regular media again. This time with a promise by Reince Priebus that it would be looked into: "Now, Santorum campaign officials say Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus has offered personal assurances to a lawyer for Santorum that the RNC would look into the matter. It DID end in a delegate tie. We have demonstrated it already, with the rules, with statements by those voting FOR the change, (Schostak Feb 8) and with statements and memos by the honorable folks like Mike Cox, and Eric Doster. We have pointed out the glaring hypocrisy, underhanded subterfuge of the process, and the subsequent damage control efforts convincing decent folk to support such treachery within the grand old party in Michigan. We should take this opportunity to remind at least one of them, that the memory of inappropriate management will be a heck of a lot slower to die. ALL the documentation keeps pointing to the proportional split. This picture found at the 2012 RNC Delegate Summary
As an FYI, I was able to get a Video of Sharon Wise explaining what happened on February 4th, and a little background along with it. It will be presented without further commentary alongside it in an effort to provide equal time. By JGillman, Section News
The Michigan GOP credentials committee met last night and shuffled the hours so that we would lose one today.
They just don't know when to stop.
Saul has his weekly "musings" propaganda letter out, and of course he feels the need to include further repudiation of the truth. First he makes the point he is a family man with mouths to feed so we feel sorry for him if/when he gets his corrupt rear tossed from the party mechanism, then he goes into the Romney inevitability meme. THEN states the obvious and points out how dangerous Obama is, so we rally together with him, and finally drops the straw man "Operation hilarity" bomb: From Democrat/Liberal Activist Joe DiSano "Operation: Hilarity."Whatever. The Dems I know voted both ways. And as I pointed out previously, the Snyder win by actively pursuing Democrats and independents in the 2010 Republican gubernatorial primary only got a "stfu," and "you don't know what you are talking about." and "It didn't happen.", by the same folks who now cry foul. And frankly, most of the presumed crossover Dems FEAR Santorum far more than Romney on two levels; Ability to beat Obama, and Governance. They won't take that chance. No Freaking Way. We have yet to see the minutes of the alleged meeting February 4th, where the rules were 'adjusted' for a winner take all of at large delegates.
In fact, there is really no proof the meeting ever took place. The folks who occupy the credentials committee have had ample opportunity to PROVE their intent was not to subvert the rules for the gain of their guy, but are slow in even coming up with made up documentation. Kinda sucks when not everyone is on board huh Saul? Bobby? It also doesn't help when EVERYTHING points towards the rules being CHANGED February 29th. (After the contest was over) Like the RNC Memo from way back in 2011. Below the fold (2 comments, 851 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Out of the 10 states involved in the "Super Tuesday" part of our election, how many will have questionable results, delayed counts, and angry grass roots?
Am guessing about 4-5. But that is just a guess. And lets take the guess a little further with a favoring Mitt Romney on Super Tuesday theme. Certainly it would follow, as the Iowa, Viginia, Maine, and Florida races demonstrate, team Romney has a bag of tricks, like we have never seen. And by golly this list would be incomplete without adding Michigan to the mix. Funny thing about election fraud in the 21st century, as the internet makes it a little harder to escape the truth. Between Mitt 'everybody gets a trophy' Romney and his buddy John 'reach across the aisle' McAlzheimer leaving his '08 Romney dossier laying around, Obama may have just had his second term handed to him.
