    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

BREAKING - Dave Agema to Challenge Anuzis!

Folks, GREAT NEWS today for those who believe in principled GOP leadership!

Republican Representative Dave Agema, has decided to run for Republican National Committeeman.

Agema, a long time Republican, is one of a number of principled Tea Party conservatives in the house. Dave currently represents the 74th state house district.  Unfortunately, he is term limited out this election cycle, and has decided to bring true conservative ideals to the committeeman position.

He offers a serious alternative to the crony Republican "Dele-Gate" style politics found with the other guy.  If we wish to overcome the challenges ahead in the GOP, we need to have trustworthy folks like Dave giving us a voice in the process.

We encourage Tea Party Republican delegates to make sure they are involved in the upcoming conventions, and to make sure they are there to see a worthy Republican through to this important 'super delegate' position.

More information on how you can help will be provided soon!

Saul Really? On A Sunday? - Day 11

The Michigan GOP credentials committee met last night and shuffled the hours so that we would lose one today.

They just don't know when to stop.

Saul has his weekly "musings" propaganda letter out, and of course he feels the need to include further repudiation of the truth.  First he makes the point he is a family man with mouths to feed so we feel sorry for him if/when he gets his corrupt rear tossed from the party mechanism, then he goes into the Romney inevitability meme. THEN states the obvious and points out how dangerous Obama is, so we rally together with him, and finally drops the straw man "Operation hilarity" bomb:

From Democrat/Liberal Activist Joe DiSano "Operation: Hilarity."

The do-gooders and progressive purists will wring their hands at those among us who helped Rick Santorum win 7 of Michigan's 14 Congressional Districts. They will tell you our efforts were misguided and unproductive. Some will even say our efforts were unethical and an example of dirty politics. They may be right on that last point.

Our efforts may have been dirty and unethical. I don't think so, but I suppose honest people can debate that. What is undeniable is the effectiveness of the efforts of progressives and Democrats to help deliver delegates to Santorum.

Through our campaign of 80,000 robo-calls, 200,000 emails, several radio and TV appearances and countless print mentions leading up to primary day, a list of just under 14,000 Democrats pledged their support to Rick Santorum in the GOP primary.

Look to the results in Michigan's sprawling 1st U.S. Congressional District. Santorum won the district by less than 1 percent or 790 votes. Our list of Democrats in the 1st U.S. Congressional District had 800 voters agreeing to support Santorum. Look at the 13th U.S. Congressional District, where Santorum won by a margin with 1,535 votes. Our robo-call program alone identified just fewer than 1,300 Democrats willing to hold their nose and vote for Santorum in the Wayne County-based 13th CD. That doesn't include people activated by our email blasts or media appearances.

At the least, our efforts in Michigan moved the delegates from the 1st, 7th and 13th U.S. Congressional Districts to Santorum's column. We denied Romney the clean sweep he'd expected.

The Dems I know voted both ways.  And as I pointed out previously, the Snyder win by actively pursuing Democrats and independents in the 2010 Republican gubernatorial primary only got a "stfu," and "you don't know what you are talking about." and "It didn't happen.", by the same folks who now cry foul. And frankly, most of the presumed crossover Dems FEAR Santorum far more than Romney on two levels; Ability to beat Obama, and Governance.

They won't take that chance. No Freaking Way. More below ~

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Oh Yeah - THOSE Rules - Day 10 Dele-GATE

We have yet to see the minutes of the alleged meeting February 4th, where the rules were 'adjusted' for a winner take all of at large delegates.

In fact, there is really no proof the meeting ever took place.  The folks who occupy the credentials committee have had ample opportunity to PROVE their intent was not to subvert the rules for the gain of their guy, but are slow in even coming up with made up documentation.

Kinda sucks when not everyone is on board huh Saul? Bobby?

It also doesn't help when EVERYTHING points towards the rules being CHANGED February 29th. (After the contest was over)

The Michigan GOP Corruption Casualties - Day 9

The corruption of the Michigan GOP by Saul Anuzis, Bobby Schostak, Sharon Wise, and Bill Runco demonstrate there is still so much to do by Michigan Republicans.

How can we stand as a party with true principles, if the pursuit of power overrides common sense and appropriate management of our affairs?  How can the desire for a single candidate be allowed to flavor the rules after the fact, to advance that candidate? How can a party that continually keeps trying to call itself "Big Tent" work so diligently to drive away the conservatives, grass roots, and TRUE Republicans, expect to survive such an important time in the history of this country?

Maybe its because those at the top don't want survival.

That is one of the conclusions one must arrive at if the facts are examined with a critical eye.  An unacceptable acknowledgement of blame for a presumed misunderstanding of the rules is all the proof the MiGOP is willing to offer to a now despondent base that everything will be OK if we all just coalesce around the chair, and spurn the idea that crooked dealings have been happening.  "If we pull together, then we can beat Obama in Michigan!", being the theme.

The Ends justify the means.  Just ignore the fact we become that which we fight in the process; Dirty dealing, backroom brokering, power seeking corruptocrats who could really care less about the rule of law or what is decent and just.

We become typical Michigan Leftist Democrats.

And we shed those who fight for the honor of the party, and of our country in the process.  ~ Below The Fold.

    Day 8 of DeleGATE

    And the cracks are widening.

More will start falling in to the opening.

The Michigan Republican party elite continue to demonstrate a lack of conscience and common sense.

Michigan GOP Chair Bobby Schostak was given a great deal of rescue line by grass roots guy Jack Hoogendyk yesterday, and instead of pulling himself out of the quicksand, he wrapped the line around his .. well, it just goes along with the "give a man enough rope" saying.

What a foolish thing to do.

Prior to Schostak pretending like the Republican grassroots give a damn about him or his supposed integrity, there WAS a solution to all of this that was not only available, but considered.  The fate of the Michigan Republican party is one of interest to me.  A suggestion made to one of the 4 who voted for the CHANGE in the rules after the fact was not rejected outright.

Day 7 Of Delegate - Soldiering On

And that festering sore, which is the MiGOP credentials committee decision to change the rules for a change the in the outcome of the Michigan primary, is still an issue.

    Imagine that.

Doctor, I do believe it is gangrene!

And in our own civil war brought about by the corruption within the Michigan Republican party we will have to hold it down to cut off the bad parts.  Sorry that it is so painful, but someone misplaced all the anesthesia.

I believe ts somewhere, along with the conscience of party leadership.

    Super Trickster Day

Out of the 10 states involved in the "Super Tuesday" part of our election, how many will have questionable results, delayed counts, and angry grass roots?

Am guessing about 4-5.  But that is just a guess.  And lets take the guess a little further with a favoring Mitt Romney on Super Tuesday theme.  Certainly it would follow, as the Iowa, Viginia, Maine, and Florida races demonstrate, team Romney has a bag of tricks, like we have never seen.  And by golly this list would be incomplete without adding Michigan to the mix.

Funny thing about election fraud in the 21st century, as the internet makes it a little harder to escape the truth.

    Dishonesty Of The Republican Party?

You know, for the first time I agree with that Trotskyite,  Shopshire, who spends his taxpayer paid office time blogging.

In a post regarding the credentials committee decision to change the rules to favor the meme that Romney carried the day February 28, RM's post invited lefty love.  Kevin Shopshire, alias Communications guru, who often lashes out (thats really ALL he does) at republicans and conservatives frequently, made like a broken clock, and may have found a point where he is right for the second time in his life.  Shopshire made a valid point unfortunately:

    Communications guru said...
Is anyone really surprised Republicans are dishonest? They should have just saved taxpayers $10 million and gave Romney the delegates. This is such a waste of time; all we are doing is deciding who is going to lose to President Obama in November.

Personally I'd rather have the caucus even if the results would have been more favorable to Romney. Unfortunately this [expletive deleted] gave you a great talking point to use against us.

    Communications guru said...
Talking point? It's not a talking point; it's about the basic dishonesty of your party.
    3/02/2012 8:08 AM

The point he makes is that the Republican leadership, framed the election in such a way as to ensure Mitts selection here, and when THAT wasn't as clear a win as they would like, it was obvious the rules were changed to make it more so.  And that Michigan Taxpayers, including Democrats (at least those who really work for a living) are footing the bill for this Kabuki theater presentation.

The "basic dishonesty of the party" meme is getting harder to defend so long as we have continued dominance by an establishment that operates not in a conservative fashion, but in one that continues to elevate those who play for power, not the good of the people.
