  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

A Purge of Social Conservatives by the MIGOP, The Real Agenda Behind the Attacks on Dave Agema!

The recent attacks on National Committeeman Dave Agema and calls for his resignation are nothing new. The attacks on Mr.Agema began in earnest soon after He announced his intentions to challenge incumbent Committeeman Saul Anuzis in April of 2012.

Attacks continued throughout the 5 week campaign,( Saul conveniently has failed to archive his musings from this period) with attacks on the Tea Party Delegates, "The RNC in general is very conservative, but by definition to many, establishment. That in itself makes it impossible to be a Tea Party person," Anuzis said in an email.
Attacks peaked with a retributive attack on the delegates who supported Agema immediately after Agema's Overwhelming convention win, with the state committee passing new rules (the "Anuzis Amendment") to amend Rule #9 of the MIGOP Convention Rules to, "To strike any language that requires a Precinct Delegate to be present in order to have preference." Thus Limiting Liberty Delegate participation in subsequent conventions. (Even more rules have been passed since to further entrench establishment support among eligible Delegates.)

Attacks continued the next day. Saul graciously encouraged his supporters to back his replacement from Grandville, yet immediately launched into a tirade about the "`Cancer' threatening Michigan Republicans."

Recent attacks flared in the spring of 2013,after a couple of events occurred at the National RNC Meeting, that in my opinion expose the real agenda behind the character assassination of Dave Agema.

Benjamin Disraeli might say  "Damn your principles! Stick to your party."

In Michigan, many might agree. So much so, or in a way to retain some political control or power over others.  But Dwight Eisenhower would reply: "A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both." Because power is money.  Money is power but Ralph Waldo Emerson would note that : "A man is usually more careful of his money than he is of his principles."

    Indeed.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Wrong Again

He picked the wrong side of the argument once again.

Saul Anuzis former RNC committeeman still has it in for the man who replaced him, OR he really does like promotion of homosexuality, and that which it carries in its side car.  Either way, he has made his bed with Dennis Lennox, and other young progressives in the party who wish to pander to the baser instincts of the forbidden fruits.

But ignoring the results of such pandering and adjustment of social conscience to the legal protections we afford our youth is some bad Juju.  Just ask prosecutors in Florida:

"The case involves Kaitlyn Ashley Hunt, an 18-year-old in Sebastian, Florida, who was arrested in February after admitting that she had a lesbian affair with a 14-year high-school freshman. .. It is a felony in Florida to have sex with 14-year-olds. Hunt was expelled from Sebastian High School -- where she and the younger girl had sex in a restroom stall -- and charged with two counts of "felony lewd and lascivious battery on a child." The charges could put Hunt in prison for up to 15 years.  ..

Using the slogan "Stop the Hate, Free Kate" ..

Portraying Hunt as the victim of prejudice, her supporters claim she was only prosecuted because she is homosexual and because the parents of the unnamed 14-year-old are "bigoted religious zealots," as Hunt's mother said in a poorly written Facebook post. The apparent public-relations strategy was described by Matthew Philbin of Newsbusters: "If you can play the gay card, you immediately trigger knee-jerk support from the liberal media and homosexual activists anxious to topple any and all rules regarding sex."

    Rules, right?

Rules mean NOTHING when reason is toppled. In the above case, we see the natural progress of 'political correctness.'

And Saul's effort to vilify his esteemed replacement relies on just that method.  By contextually abusing comments of Ronald Reagan, and confusing actual bigotry with a conscious  disassociation to unhealthy lifestyles, he is solidifying his support for unhealthy, and nontraditional physical relationships.

    Go below the fold.

    Whats All The Hubbub

    Bub?

OK, in the last couple of days, I have railed on about transparency, and frankly have had to go on offense, in defense of Ruth Johnson's courageous suggestion. I will admit to being a little reactionary because of the dunderhead commentary of McNeilly and his faux front, "Freedom Fund,"(click on the link, its a tension breaker) but still hold to the standards described.

That flatly, we should aspire to true openness.

The language added to exceptions of regulated monies under SB661 (Amending the Michigan campaign finance act) is clearly a push back on Johnson's intention to open those shuttered windows into shadowy financing and advocacy. The added exemption reads:

"(j) An expenditure for a communication if the communication does not in express terms advocate the election or defeat of a clearly identified candidate so as to restrict the application ofthis act to communications containing express words of advocacy of election or defeat, such as "vote for", "elect", "support", "cast your ballot for", "Smith for governor", "vote against", "defeat", or "reject".
Making sure she cannot pursue transparency on this as is allowed under the constitution of the US and the state.

    It limits her statutorily.

Many on the conservative side are actually a little more concerned however about THIS little gem. Lines struck out from the MCFA read:

"(a) A house political party caucus committee or a senate political party caucus committee shall not pay a debt incurred by a candidate if that debt was incurred while the candidate was seekingnomination at a primary election and the candidate was opposed at that primary.
      (b) A house political party caucus committee or a senate political party caucus committee shall not make a contribution to or make an expenditure on behalf of a candidate if that candidate is seeking nomination at a primary election and the candidate is opposed at that primary."
    With no replacement language.

Golly, what might the establishment be up to?

    Differerence MiGOP and GOP?

Its been inspiring to watch Senator Ted Cruz and REAL patriots talk on the Senate floor all night long.

Pushing into the 20th hour and still going strong, there appears to be clear differences where our state GOP is as compared to the party leadership nationally.  About 19 hours ago Reince Priebus Chair of the national GOP tweets:

From our own party leadership?  Crickets.

    Nothing. Nada.

Below the fold are screen shots of the only Michigan political social media efforts on twitter.

    Expect that we will.

But in the meantime, note that those young conservative stalwarts fighting for "truth and the American way, civil discourse (especially from 'bigot haters'), and eventual control of the Michigan GOP, are perfectly willing to use the tools of the left to draw support from the left.  Where else but the Obama 'petition' site is the calling out for Agema's Resignation. Using the site favored by low information voters for its pretense of reaching the president himself, One of the signers of the other petition, Timothy Maurer, "Greater Detroit Area Republican" has continued to advance such greatness as Homosexuality, destruction of family, spread of disease, and the neo-RINO mentality.

Bravo young Maurer! Obama will invite you for a beer summit soon to discuss your 'concern'.

What a champ!  What a hero to young Pizza munchers who want to be Republicans, but can't because they don't like personal responsibility, family values, the first amendment, or anything else that Republicans stand for!  What a supporter of strong families, and tradition, by holding Barack Obama's hand and opening up the internal debate of Michigan Republicans into a place where the left can emerge from the underbelly of our nation and weigh in with their agenda for advanced personal destruction.  Support as expressed by a [non-Republican] Jennifer from Holland:

" I am not Republican, though I hold many of the values they proclaim to support: I believe in strong families, based in commitment to one another and their communities. I believe in helping those less fortunate than myself and allowing people to believe what they wish, as long as their beliefs do not cause harm or loss to others. I have been married for 13 years and we have a son we are raising to be a good human being. But you would deny me my family of 13 years simply because my spouse is another woman. ... "
    Ooooh snap!

And that son will learn tolerance! And will learn how to be intolerant of intolerance to promote tolerance of the intolerable!

Yes MR. Maurer, you seek "a big tent" with no walls. Am I right?  Is that what you desire?

Bravo then, as you have found a way to do it by reaching out to those who are destroying the rest of the culture, energy, defense, budget, science, education, and last but not least, freedom of religion.

Is Your Name On This List?

Is this something you agreed to?

Examine this list (being presented as a press release by Brad Fingeroot) closely.  You know someone on here.  Your kids, grand kids, The paperboy.  Perhaps spanking had become passe too soon?

The young people on the list below do not support the platform of the Republican party, yet claim to be Republican.  The young people on the list below have declared it more expedient in order to win elections to refute any policy based on principle.  They apparently support homosexual relationships, more so than the family unit, which statistically makes society stronger, and individuals more resilient.

This is the future of the Michigan GOP, or so they claim; these young Republicans, encouraged into signing a petition because real conservatives won't acknowledge homosexual activity is OKEY DOKEY.  Because traditions are what they call the "Democracy of the dead".

    Google that.

These corrupted youngsters in their average 20 or so years age range know better than you old fuddy duddy racists and bigot conservatives in the old Republican party.  They don't need you. BIGOTS

They are the new Republican. And their message is below the fold

    MIGOP Misses The Point

    Again.

The MiGOP chair once again screwed up an opportunity to mend fences with the conservative base.

Bobby Shostak hoping to catch some of the CPAC love fest action for Michigan Republicans makes this announcement about 86th House District Representative Lisa Posthumus-Lyons who was featured and honored as one of the Conservative Political Action Conference's (CPAC) 10 conservatives under 40. Lyons District is in Kent and Ionia Counties, and serves as the Assistant Majority Floor Leader. :

"Rep. Lyons is a tremendous leader in Michigan and she's a strong advocate of the common sense conservative policies that are resulting in Michigan's comeback."

    The release continued:
" Rep. Lyons is recognized as a "Rising Young Conservative Leaders," which relates to CPAC's theme this year, "America's Future: The Next Generation of Conservatives. New Challenges, Timeless Principles."
    Timeless principles?

"Timeless principles" must have a meaning I am not familiar with. Perhaps its those progressive principles they call timeless. If this is the next generation of conservative, I'm out.  And a note to our MiGOP, the activists you will find below the fold are just a few of those who would disagree with this blind accolade.

Very much so - Continue on below.
