City and state leaders have agreed on a milestone agreement that supports the city's reform agenda, officials announced Thursday. Told you it would happen. Heck, even the bad actors in the Snyder Administration are faking it so not to be the ones stuck holding the bag when this blows up in their face.
State Treasurer Andy Dillon said the agreement gives Detroit "a transparent roadmap" to get the bond money, but he's still concerned about the progress that's been made on the reform agenda. Much work to be done, Andy? Like what? Forcing the taxpayers of Michigan to be stuck with more junk bonds for the decades of unaccountable "protected class" Democratic Party rule in Detroit? No más, Señor Tesorero Dillon. Like it or not, the Consent Agreement was not agreed to in good faith. Not by Mayor Bing, nor by City Council, and most certainly not by Corporation Counsel. It is time for Governor Snyder to be held accountable too. It way past being painfully obvious when those who are viewed as crossing over to the dark side from time to time have reached their wits end with an alleged fiscal conservative governor enabling his spoiled rotten children to carry on by throwing money at them.
Either the city wants to be a full participant in its financial rescue or the governor should, to quote a famous failed presidential candidate, let Detroit go bankrupt. Comprender? The sad part for the rest of the state is that anyone watching the charade happening in Detroit, knows that in 2013 we'll still be having the same results. That's racists you say? See here. Many thought Andy Dillon's political days were over when he lost the Democratic primary for governor in August. But you thought wrong. With his appointment as the next state treasurer, Dillon will be able to travel the state and repair his image and carefully wait for an opportunity to run for governor.
Make no mistake: Dillon's loyalties are not with the Republican Party, Governor-elect Rick Snyder or the incoming administration. He'll wait for a major issue. This will be something controversial, such as a tax increase. In protest, Dillon will resign from Cabinet on a matter of conscious, criticize the Republican administration and then mount a challenge - saying I knew better and will do better - to Snyder in 2014. Dillon's a clever politician. He wants to be governor. He was robbed of the nomination by labor unions, whose days in Michigan's halls of government are numbered, and moderate and independent-leaning voters who preferred the calm-mannered Snyder to Republican primary rivals Mike Cox and Pete Hoekstra.
How he does it, nobody knows. But mark my words: We haven't heard the last of Dillon. And in a general election contest verses Snyder, Dillon (who some could argue is more conservative -- at least on social issues) will prevail. (2 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
It's difficult to comprehend Governor-Elect Snyder with it being only 8 short days after Michigan's voters turned a Jennifer Granholm and Andy Dillon controlled desolate wasteland of big spending, big taxes and high unemployment Democrat Party blue into a landslide of Republican red.
Seriously, Governor-Elect Snyder appears that he is not listening to what election night November 2010 said to him. Snyder won by default. Snyder was also fortunate enough to slip through a mud slinging Open Primary that even included to the bitter end, a pathetically obstinate 10% candidate that also lost an election to Debbie Stabenow. Thanks again, Bouchard. The numerous news articles on Governor-Elect Snyders' obsession with former Gov. Milliken causes unease enough.
Snyder often expresses admiration for 88-year-old William Milliken, another moderate Republican and the state's longest-serving governor. But a Jennifer Granholm parallel too? (1 comment, 625 words in story) Full Story By migopwatch, Section News

Like most conservatives, I didn't support Rick Snyder in the August GOP primary. Unfortunately, the conservatives spilt the vote and Snyder was elected. Come last week's election, I voted for him because he was better than the alternative. But I'm regretting my vote with today's news that the architect of the 2007 tax increase (the largest in Michigan history) is being appointed to watch over our tax dollars.

This news story was a bit of a Déjà vu, eye popper, featuring a familiar name. Another local democrat getting in trouble with the law again? Who is it? {Film after the break.} (2 comments, 195 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, and John (MR Monica) Conyers, both lefty SE Michigan Democrats have teamed up to provide Lansing mayor Virg Bernero with critical endorsements sure to put him over the top against Andy Dillon of Redford Township in the Democrat gubernatorial Bid. Both Conyers and Kilpatrick are Incumbent Congress critters with family members embroiled in one legal matter or another.. or another..
The Ivory Tower confirming the endorsements with the following report:
"Guys.. I just gakked!" Or something like that. Then someone got a discount on their insurance. Anyhow, both endorsers are uniquely qualified to provide the much needed assistance to the Bernero campaign. Its rumored they are quite willing to offer their special "good will" to the Dillon camp if Bernero doesn't cut the mustard with at least 21.35% of the Democrat primary vote Aug 03. ... Hey.. someone else just got a discount on their insurance. (3 comments) Comments >>
