Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Panic in Detroit.

Whoa, like nobody ever saw this coming...

Please enjoy this brief musical interlude before proceeding to the remainder of this post.

    {Continues below the fold.}

A Man of God threatening to burn Detroit to the ground.

Residents who are among the highest taxed in Michigan are being asked yet again to pay for a core service of local government.

And now to top things off, they're turning off the lights now.

Well, that last part kind of surprised even me, because most of the lights in the city don't even work, and haven't worked in years.

Over that time, scrappers have stolen wiring (live), cover plates, even the entire fixture themselves throughout the city. Just yesterday, while driving down I-96, there were large stretches of roadway without any working lights whatsoever. I'm used to it driving in rural areas. Most people from around here are not.

And if that wasn't bad enough, the Detroit City Council is up to their latest game with their recently agreed to consent decree.

    According to yesterday's Detroit News:

"Council members postponed any action related to the financial agreement with the state while they await a potential lawsuit challenging its legality.

The decision means the council will hold off on its two appointments to a nine-member Financial Advisory Board that will oversee the city's financial restructuring. Six members already have been appointed."

But wait, just to show you the naiveté of Gov. Snyder himself:

"We're working in good faith with the agreement that was signed voluntarily by all parties," Sara Wurfel, a spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Snyder, said in a statement. "... The city and citizens of Detroit shouldn't have to wait any longer. More delays only continue the problems of the past and make the recovery more difficult."

Look, let me break it down for Gov. Snyder and others in state government in easily understandable terms.

    You've been duped!

    That's right.

Race-baiting, poverty pimps who depend upon perpetuating the status quo for their own political survival have taken you and the rest of state government for a fool in believing that they will actually follow through on anything that they have agreed to.

This latest kerfuffle came about a few day ago as the result of a legal opinion sought by an "unnamed" member of city government, later revealed to be Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, a frequent and vocal critic of the consent agreement.

Detroit Corporation Counsel Krystal Crittendon was asked to provide an opinion of the legality of the consent agreement between the State of Michigan and the City of Detroit.

Ms. Crittendon's legal opinion was that the agreement was "null & void" due to Michigan's unpaid debts to Detroit; including a $4-million water bill and over $200-million in promised revenue sharing.

An interesting ancillary note to add here is that Michigan co-signed on a loan for about $100-million as part of the condition of the consent agreement.

    No consent agreement. No loan.

No loan. No money to pay Detroit's short-term money troubles (as in, they have no money to spend right now).

    Detroit bankruptcy...here we come!

Things are starting to get a little hairy here.

There was a reason I posted that video at the beginning of this post. For those of you who aren't familiar, some of the lyrics reference the last riot in 1967.

At the rate things are going, and the governor's insistence of treating Detroit's "leadership" with kid gloves, it's not out of the realm of possibility to see something along the same lines, if not worse from happening again.

    During the 1967 Riot:

    • 43 people were killed in just three days of violence.

    • Numerous buildings were set ablaze.

    • Approximately $100-million in property damage overall.

What will a 2012 Detroit Riot result in?

    '67 may be the cure for '12 (none / 0) (#1)

Remember, Gov Snyholm has been on tour recruiting in the Middle East.  Am reasonably sure that even in Ricky's liberal fabric there's a whole lotta been bullied his entire life pent-up aggression waiting to get out.  Candy-ass kinda has a funny streak that way.  Unpredictable when cornered.

However, when considering the fact that ever since the chocolate messiah took office, and that he has been gun salesman of the year for those four years, I highly doubt any of us will be seeing another '67 Detroit.  Decent folk all across this state and nation have been watching the radar for any repeat of the 60s.

Bottom line: Those who could bail from the cesspool have bailed.  Those decent folk who couldn't, have armed themselves.

Frankly, the Race Warlording Poverty Pimp sh!t-stains like Fire Marshall Shabazz has no traction, nor do any of his useful idiot sidekicks from the People Republic of Detroit.

But, it sho 'nuff makes for an interesting summer for y'all.  I got me some nosebleed seats, and the view from here is wonderful.

    Play ball!
