Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

Rick Snyder, You're No Governor Christie

It's difficult to comprehend Governor-Elect Snyder with it being only 8 short days after Michigan's voters turned a Jennifer Granholm and Andy Dillon controlled desolate wasteland of big spending, big taxes and high unemployment Democrat Party blue into a landslide of Republican red.

Seriously, Governor-Elect Snyder appears that he is not listening to what election night November 2010 said to him.  Snyder won by default.  Snyder was also fortunate enough to slip through a mud slinging Open Primary that even included to the bitter end, a pathetically obstinate 10% candidate that also lost an election to Debbie Stabenow.  Thanks again, Bouchard.

The numerous news articles on Governor-Elect Snyders' obsession with former Gov. Milliken causes unease enough.

Snyder often expresses admiration for 88-year-old William Milliken, another moderate Republican and the state's longest-serving governor.

But a Jennifer Granholm parallel too?

    From the Morning Sun.

Both individuals are extremely optimistic by nature almost to the point of being naïve about what horrors can unfold in the state Capitol. And as a corollary to that, Granholm wanted to replicate the bi-partisanship created by former Gov. William Milliken and ditto for Snyder. She never really pulled it off, although there were some successes. He thinks he can do it, but rest assured this is not William Milliken's Legislature.

From what I've been reading about Governor-Elect Snyder and his appointments so far, the Legislature will be my battleground.  With Republican majorities of 63-47 in the House and 26-12 in the state Senate, this is the only remaining option for a Conservative voice in the era of an Executive Office that obsesses in a liberal Milliken past.

One can only pray that Snyders' choosing a term limited, tax hiking Democrat as his Treasurer isn't another insight on the next four years.

Considered politically in the center, Dillon and his boss-to-be share common backgrounds. Both hold accounting and law degrees, both have served as CEO of large corporations, and both are experienced venture capitalists...

"We are putting together a diverse team with unparalleled legislative and private sector experience," Snyder said in a news release.

"... Andy Dillon knows the budget inside and out, and has repeatedly shown his willingness to work across the aisle to make tough decisions".

When in the hell did that occur?  When Dillon became term Limited?  Andy sure didn't reach across the aisle before the recall drive.

Matter of fact, House Speaker Dillon even went as far as deploying Democrat staffers to obstruct his recall.

House Democrat staffers were deployed on Michigan's primary election day to block recall petition gatherers at polling places in Grand Rapids. They were rude, sometimes violent and mysteriously silent once the cameras started rolling.

This woman identified herself as the "legal counsel" for two other blockers but stopped talking entirely once she saw the cameras.

And who can forget this gem?

    Yep, you stay classy Democrats.

Our Governor-Elect Rick Snyder already has one HUGE strike against him with me, and that is with his appointment of Andy Dillon.  A leader does not reward bad behavior with further taxpayer funded employment.

Rick Snyder possesses a law degree.  He should be well versed in ethics.

I make no excuse, and Snyders' "Andy Dillon knows the budget inside and out" canard just doesn't cut it for me.

Snyder must be watched like a hawk.

You want to prevent another Rick Snyder the answer is pretty simple. Either drastically reform the primary rules in this state or do away with the primary system altogether. Let us pick our candidate at the State Convention. It worked for a great many years in the past and it produced better candidates for the most part. This is the reason campaigns have gotten longer, more tiresome and more expensive. The conventions have become nothing more then a dog and pony show that means nothing. The time has come to return to a system that worked and junk one that has been corrupted.
I will say this, Snyder better pull his head out of his hindend and listen to the folks or he will be either recalled or primaried and replaced come 2014.
