Tag: corruption (page 4)By JGillman, Section News
And that festering sore, which is the MiGOP credentials committee decision to change the rules for a change the in the outcome of the Michigan primary, is still an issue.
Imagine that. Doctor, I do believe it is gangrene! And in our own civil war brought about by the corruption within the Michigan Republican party we will have to hold it down to cut off the bad parts. Sorry that it is so painful, but someone misplaced all the anesthesia. I believe ts somewhere, along with the conscience of party leadership. (1 comment) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
You know, for the first time I agree with that Trotskyite, Shopshire, who spends his taxpayer paid office time blogging.
In a post regarding the credentials committee decision to change the rules to favor the meme that Romney carried the day February 28, RM's post invited lefty love. Kevin Shopshire, alias Communications guru, who often lashes out (thats really ALL he does) at republicans and conservatives frequently, made like a broken clock, and may have found a point where he is right for the second time in his life. Shopshire made a valid point unfortunately: Communications guru said... The point he makes is that the Republican leadership, framed the election in such a way as to ensure Mitts selection here, and when THAT wasn't as clear a win as they would like, it was obvious the rules were changed to make it more so. And that Michigan Taxpayers, including Democrats (at least those who really work for a living) are footing the bill for this Kabuki theater presentation. The "basic dishonesty of the party" meme is getting harder to defend so long as we have continued dominance by an establishment that operates not in a conservative fashion, but in one that continues to elevate those who play for power, not the good of the people.

One thing that has not gone unnoticed by the grassroots Republicans and conservatives is that Saul Anuzis is the GOP guy who seems to be solely responding to the questions about the DeleGATE Change in Michigan.
Mike Cox, the CHAIR of the credentials committee isn't doing it. In fact, the former attorney general of Michigan has been pretty clear where he stands on the issue. "I supported Mitt, but the vote was clearly wrong. It's kind of like Third World voting. We published rules and then we voted to change the rules."And even more quotes are available essentially saying the same thing. Mr Cox an attorney, also joined by Eric Doster, the Counsel for the Michigan GOP voted NO to changing the rules on Wednesday night, with regard to delegate assignment. Even Holly Hughes is reported as saying she disagrees with the rules change. Those who voted FOR? Bobby Schostak, Sharon Wise, and Bill Runco all voting for the change appear to have more of a silence following them. The last of the "gang of four", Saul Anuzis is the most heard, and continues to defend it as if it is a matter of life and death. Its as if it is his baby. His creation. HIS work. I believe it is. In fact, one Tea Party leader I have spoken to says it is a "test case" for NPV. A way that Saul can see if reassigning delegates can be done through further "weighting" of population heavy counties like Oakland. Continued below. Does THIS:
Moroun, 84, and Stamper, 62, were sent to jail Thursday as punishment for their company being found in contempt of court. Judge Prentis Edwards said Detroit International Bridge Co. repeatedly failed to follow his orders to work with the state of Michigan and get the Gateway Project done. have anything to do with THIS? The son of a Detroit judge who is set to impose contempt of court penalties against Ambassador Bridge owner Matty Moroun has been appointed to the bench by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder. Somebody has some splainin to do. It likely won't be Mr Moroun. For the sake of integrity in the bench, perhaps in the executive branch in Lansing, I want to see a really good reason. I am really seriously shaken by this if it is true. I know one fan of this site whom I hope would take a look at this. I pray there is no quid pro quo, but for the life of me I cannot get over what would have to be the crappiest coincidence in Michigan political history. And don't anyone forget it.
The meatpuppet of Michigan, Debbie (the Heat Miser) Stabenow is quite willing to take the chance most in the media will ignore her obvious Fee for Free[dom] collecting as seen in a recent release by the MI GOP.

Detroit Is Dead.
Detroit, Michigan, The "motor city", jewel of the mid-west, manufacturing magnet, and dominator of automotive excellence for multiple decades passed of cancer during the night. She was 310 years old. Born in 1701 as a fur trading post, Detroit's history had been vibrant and always interesting. In the Mid 1700s, Detroit's affair with the British might have been long term but for General Washington bringing her back home in 1796. In 1805, she became scarred horribly by a fire, yet still had the tenacity to flourish, and the allure to bring more settlers and become incorporated as a city in 1815. As Michigan adopted its first constitution in 1835, Detroit was honored with the designation as the capitol. A couple of years later, the state was admitted to the union. In 1847, Detroit lost her capitol seat to her daughter Lansing, but remained and served with honor against aggressions emanating from the Brits in Windsor. Obituary continued below. What the heck is going on here?
I can hardly keep up with the scandal laden atmosphere that apparently is still Michigan. One piece of work that in my view has a prison sentence with the former governor's name all over it, is the forced unionization scam that was perpetrated on the very folks who could hardly realize in time what was happening much less have a chance to object. A plan so deliberate and sinister, it took on a life that apparently continues to this day. "For the state to operate a dubiously formed government entity that has been defunded by the Legislature seems unprecedented," said Patrick Wright, director of the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation. "But such shenanigans aren't entirely surprising given the origination of this agency and the machinations to preserve it for the sake of skimming `union dues' from independent contractors." Ah crap. We have criminal activities on our side too? There can be only one way a republican could move to support what was at the least a vary BAD mistake, and more likely a collusive effort between a cash seeking union and our former governor. Victims were many, yet there are still those who wish to see more. Kahn? Fess up. Spill the beans on the shenanigans you and Richardville are involved in, and walk away with SOME form of dignity. You are about to see a whole lot of fun here with your name on it. Your move. (5 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
I really don't want to go on a RINO hunt, but it seems we must have enough of them around that the common sense grass roots are getting trampled. Time to put up the stay off the grass signs, and stake out the oasis in Lansing.
Say it with me: Kinda brings back lunch ..from a few days ago. What are these geniuses thinking? this DRIC plan was shot down by many of the same people who are now apparently willing to flush their reputations down the toilet. Representatives and senators who declined to support the "Granholm boondoggle" now might actually support the "Snyder Boondoggle." The only thing that has changed is the governor, and the name of the project. The payback is still as miserable as it ever was, with questionable traffic and use being the mechanism to repay the Canadian loan of a half Billion smackers. I posted a few questions last week, but didn't really get into some of the real details (dollars etc..) that are involved in this deal. I believe however, I implied strongly enough that such a large enterprise certainly has great room for corruption. Being that this thing makes NO SENSE for any fiscally conservative Republican to embark on, it certainly has my brows creased. (1 comment, 788 words in story) Full Story
