The meatpuppet of Michigan, Debbie (the Heat Miser) Stabenow is quite willing to take the chance most in the media will ignore her obvious Fee for Free[dom] collecting as seen in a recent release by the MI GOP.
NY Post Exposѐ: Stabenow Recently Solicited Corzine for Campaign Cash
Stabenow "called all the time" soliciting funds, refuses to return previous Corzine campaign donations
LANSING, Mich., Dec. 16, 2011 - A New York Post story this morning raises serious questions about Senator Debbie Stabenow's relationship with MF Global CEO Jon Corzine. The story reports that Stabenow "pressed" Corzine for campaign contributions and called his office "all the time." On Tuesday, Stabenow held a hearing to investigate the $1.2 billion in missing MF Global funds and subpoenaed Corzine to testify before her committee. Today's story questions her integrity and ability to fairly investigate this matter.
"Today's New York Post story is very disappointing, and Michigan's citizens and those defrauded by MF Global deserve to know the full extent of the Stabenow-Corzine relationship," said Matt Frendewey, director of communications at the Michigan Republican Party. "The Stabenow-Corzine relationship is typical of the Washington hypocrisy that voters are sick and tired of."
The New York Post story, "Cash & Burn," says Stabenow asked Corzine, her former Senate colleague, for contributions repeatedly. While serving together in the U.S. Senate, Stabenow and Corzine co-chaired the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.
Stabenow has refused to address and return the $4,000 in contributions her campaign received from Corzine and his family.
"Is Senator Stabenow protecting a friend, former colleague and donor or playing politics?" Asked Frendewey. "Senator Stabenow owes the citizens of Michigan and all those defrauded by MF Global serious answers."
