  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The star-chamber backed candidate in the CD-11 race made some very interesting comments yesterday on OTR regarding her opponent's supporters, her opponent and a rather interesting hint at her future campaign strategy after she loses the primary and "special election".

iCaucus of Michigan and the 2012 Primary Campaign

Because of the principled approach to vetting and endorsing candidates, the tea party networks in several states (including in Michigan) voluntarily operate in strategic partnership with the Independence Caucus organization in their state.  It's a group of concerned citizens devoted to electing candidates truly committed to constitutional loyalty and fiscal responsibility, regardless of party, whose goal is the election of such candidates to not less than 40% of the available seats in the several state legislatures and both chambers of Congress . . . in each election year.  The iCaucus concerns itself with candidate screening, endorsement, and advocacy, with a specific focus on constitutional loyalty and grassroots activism, and on integrity over money, which makes it a unique organization in contemporary politics.

Just in via The Detroit News

Gov. Rick Snyder called a special election after the Livonia congressman abruptly resigned, saying it was constitutionally required.

His administration now says it will cancel the $650,000 undertaking in suburban Detroit's 11th District if only one person -- or none -- decides to run.

Candidates have until July 20 to qualify for the ballot by collecting 1,000 valid signatures.

Republican Nancy Cassis of Novi said Friday on public television's "Off the Record" that she may withdraw to avoid a special election, if she's one of only two candidates. Kerry Bentivolio of Milford also plans to run on the GOP ticket.

But .. but .. but, Constitution?  Sure thing, Ricky GovernDRIC.  And, all I needed to see: Nancy Classless is still .. Classless.  Yannow, the MI-GOP really is more fugged up than Hogan's Goat.  Keep up the good work, Baghdad Bobby Schostak.

    Go Bentivolio, Go!

U.S. Rep. Dan Benishek speaks out against vague language in legislation

    By Rep. Dan Benishek

Imagine government without responsibility toward its citizens -- let me give you a hint, it looks a lot like Syria's Bashar al-Assad regime.

America is blessed with a Constitution that protects Americans so they are not afraid that each new leader will turn the country into a fascist nation. No matter how much anyone disagrees with a president's policies, we can take solace in the protections of the Constitution.

The Constitution's authority is supreme and every piece of legislation must fit within the Constitution's limits.

Roger that, Doc.  So far, we're on the same page.  Let's continue...

I have more than once on this site cited a paraphrase of John F. Kennedy's warning:  Those who insist on making a peaceful takeover impossible will ultimately make a takeover by revolt inevitable, and perhaps even necessary.  Since we cannot seem to trust the blueblood elites in the establishment to get the message, let's go below the fold and discuss an idea to "grease the skids" for their removal from power.

Actually a very powerful ad, it will resonate well with Tea folk and true conservatives who had little love for the failed former governor and her state wrecking policies.

    Talk about contrasting candidates.

I highly recommend cracking open a case of Monster Heavy Metal before watching. You'll need it way before this clip ends.

Seriously, you need notes to tell people about YOUR OWN RECORD?

Now, contrast the above to this:

No wonder Brooks and the blue-bloods are running scared.
