I feel for the residents of Royal Oak Michigan.
The not-so-benign cancer of Homophilia is metastasizing again in yet another community that will not likely consider the effects of the day's new Political Correctness movement. The question being asked of Royal Oak voters is yet another false one. It has been asked so many other times in other communities across the state, with supporters equating non-support, as having 'Jim Crow' like bigotry. Outside money and activism is being concentrated in Royal Oak, not to stop any rampant queer-hunting problem, but to continue a well planned city-by-city effort by those outsiders to maximize the acceptance of homosexuality as an activity that requires no decision making or choice. In other words Royal Oak? On Tuesday, its apparently time for you to get your freak on. Special rights for a behavior identified identity and related higher incidents of mental and physical affliction is truly what is on the ballot. Organizers even admit it is an outside effort, and has an ultimate mission: "Those in favor of the human rights ordinance, leading a campaign called One Royal Oak, said their effort is a single step in a well-funded statewide effort. They want to add similar ordinances to a growing list of Michigan communities, which now numbers 29, according to Unity Michigan Coalition, a Kalamazoo-based political group behind many local gay rights initiatives."And before this conversation becomes defined as 'hate speech' or 'bigoted,' lets remind folks that no one can identify a single example of "rights" not available to those who engage in homosexual acts. No one.
In fact, the entire argument is merely one that forces acceptance of that chosen behavior no matter its consequence socially or medically. Their argument itself is one for ending freedom of association, of First Amendment rights, privacy, and due process. And as much as I would love to NOT have to engage in this argument, from time to time it is clearly necessary. (1 comment, 826 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
This nation is infested by those who would defraud us.
Nearly everyone knows SOMEONE who is on the public dole. Whether it is food stamps or corporate thievery, (not covered in this essay) shouldn't the taxpayer have the right to know where his resources are channeled by government? Especially given the "Sobering Data" published in the DHS sanctioned Michigan lottery report in 2012 "Nearly 14 percent of all lottery winners are either welfare recipients themselves or reside in a household with welfare recipients."It seems that we have at the very least 14% of lottery winning abuse. (and that only identifies those who have won) After revelations that at least two major lottery winners were STILL collecting assistance, the report was commissioned and legislative action has been sought to address such abuse. At the same time Democrat legislators like Rashida Tlaib take the typical progressive route and wish to encourage more abuse through inaction. By attempting to assign shame, that might be more appropriately placed on those who beg for assistance and abuse our generosity by gambling with it, to the DHS director Corrigan (God Bless Her) who sees a problem. "Though DHS found 19 people with lottery winners of more than $100,000, 83 percent of lottery winners on welfare rolls won less than $5,000. Democratic state Rep. Fashida Tlaib accused the agency of being too harsh on people with small lottery winnings.Tlaib, of course reminding us that it doesn't take a whole lot of mental horsepower to be a state Rep from SE Michigan. Here's to gerrymandering!

I work very hard.
When I leave the office, I transfer the phones to my cell, so that I may help customers with technical issues. Fortunately those calls are few, and my evening is relatively quiet. And when I do not have other responsibilities, I selfishly like to relax in the easy chair, and sometimes even take a nap before writing, or catching up on the day's events. Quiet, relaxed, and stress free. Until electioneering season. And the establishment Republicans become the most evil sons of &#^%*$ I will ever know. (they seem to be the biggest abusers of this) They have some idea that calling people at and around dinner time will engender wonderful feelings of support. If I am not answering, my wife is, and THEN I get to listen to HER about the call, and the 8-10 more that came earlier. To make it worse, they use automated systems that call every 5 minutes so that you remember whom they are. Don't worry, I will never forget. And frankly, I will remember to NEVER vote for those who use this type of advertising. NEVER. And I'll bet I am not alone. (13 comments) Comments >> By apackof2, Section News

The penultimate sentence in one of my recent posts was "Never underestimate the creativity of a plaintiff's lawyer and a desperate debtor." As if on cue, enter the City of Detroit's former mayor and leading debtor, Kwame Kilpatrick, and his attorney, Florida's well-known Willie Gary. [If you've been preoccupied during the last several years, there's a timeline of Kilpatrick's scandals here.] On March 10, in a Mississippi circuit court, Gary and Kilpatrick sued SkyTel, reportedly for the nice round sum of $100 million, for allegedly violating the federal Electronic Stored Communications Act. The gist of the lawsuit, which can be viewed here, is that by releasing text messages between Kilpatrick and others, principally his former chief of staff, Christine Beatty, SkyTel invaded Kilpatrick's privacy and violated federal law.
