Republican Progressive (RINO) Wayne Schmidt loves himself some Orwellian plans.
Originally mentioned here on RightMichigan, this issue has other aspectsd that need to be discussed. Demonstrating the jackboot mentality that infests the cranium of big government types, State Rep Wayne Schmidt R-104 along with Fred Durhal Jr., Thomas F. Stallworth III, Brian Banks, Michael D. McCready, Woodrow Stanley, Henry Yanez, Scott Dianda have decided they want to automate oppression with HB4763. Adding to the other ways in which those who implicitly trust that government will NEVER abuse its power of force, these legislators and the man who never met a government expansion he didn't like, explain it as empowering to local communities. "local governments should be given control over whether they want to use this kind of technology in their communities."Yeah, but.. The constitution has something to say already with regards to this legislation. What about this amendment to the motor vehicle code that is proposed in this poorly thought out power grab?: (5) A complaint signed by a police officer shall be treated as made under oath if the violation alleged in the complaint is A civil offense described in section 752 and if the complaint contains the following statement immediately above the date and signature of the police officer:If you look to the text of the existing code, you will find it does not supplant the text that already makes the under oath claim requiring the police officer's presence, but adds to the powers granted to police for after-the-fact enforcement without ever witnessing the crime first hand."I declare under the penalties of perjury that the statements Above are true to the best of my information, knowledge, and belief.". Its saying "to the best of my knowledge you are indeed guilty, unless you can prove otherwise", and allowing the same latitude that is currently only available with crimes that have occurred or were committed in the signing officer's presence. Is that such a good idea? Continued below. (5 comments, 1406 words in story) Full Story By Conservative First, Section News
Michigan's 5th district Congressman Dale Kildee has announced his retirement after 36 years in Congress. Kildee is a liberal union democrat based in Flint. His lifetime American Conservative Union (ACU) rating is 12%. He has identified himself as pro-life and until 2010 was endorsed by Michigan Right to Life, but nonetheless voted for Obamacare. He is anti-gun, with a rating of F from Gun Owners of America.

you know ... Why They FAIL?
In yet another attempt to bend the business owner to government's will, Democrats in the state house have introduced what I will call the Credit Reporting Absolutely Prohibited act.
Michigan's House Bill 4363 (2011) has the following lawmakers bending employers over and gives them the busines.. umm gives them a LESSON on business. Jon Switalski - (primary) Lesia Liss, Vicki Barnett, Rashida H. Tlaib, Kate Segal, Stacy Erwin Oakes, Andrew J. Kandrevas, Woodrow Stanley, Brandon Dillon, Fred Durhal, Jr., Jim Ananich, Maureen Stapleton, Ellen Cogen Lipton, Mark Meadows, Lisa Brown all have jumped on board the 'C.R.A.P.' act bandwagon, and eagerly seek the no responsibility route. "A bill to prohibit employers from making certain recruiting or hiring decisions based upon an individual's credit history; to prohibit employers from making certain inquiries; to prohibit certain waivers; to prohibit retaliation; and to provide remedies." Certainly, those folks could get their credit back up if they could get that job they don't deserve, right? Oh my, those poor put upon people who just cannot catch a break! Wow! If I may borrow a cartoon character's exclamation of disgust mixed with a little frustration and eye rolling, AYE CARAMBA! It seems our out of touch cousins of the liberal persuasion have again forgotten that their form of governance has consequence. More below. Rush Limbaugh said he'd like to bulldoze Flint and kill everyone in the City. That according to Democratic state Representative Woodrow Stanley.
Responding to remarks Limbaugh made yesterday on his top rated afternoon radio program where he agreed with Genesee County Treasurer (and Democrat) Dan Kildee's suggestion that abandoned buildings and vacant space be torn down, Stanley and half of the Lefties in F-Town just plumb lost their minds. The Flint Journal Reports:
"Cities are not just buildings or concrete or trees -- cities are people," he said. "You're making reference to people and that is not appropriate at all." I don't like to devolve into personal insults and name-calling. I think by in large the entire community here at RightMichigan has been pretty good about sticking to issues, at least on this site, but Woodrow... you're either being hyper-partisan, intentionally dense a mile beyond the point of absurdity or you, sir, are an idiot. Period. Let's recap... (Please read on...) (16 comments, 652 words in story) Full Story |
