"I looked up my family tree and found three dogs using it" - Rodney Dangerfield Here we go again in Michigan.
Ronna Romney McDaniel, granddaughter of former Michigan Gov. George Romney, said she's "looking at" a Republican run for Senate after Democrat Carl Levin announced he's not going to seek re-election. She was an active campaigner for her uncle Mitt Romney last year. What's happening in DC? Career hack politicos getting by, or surviving on last name recognition, and a disinterested electorate because we know both sides of the Ruling Class are lying to us.
Her father, Scott Romney, Mitt's older brother, told The News that after initially considering a run he has decided against a bid for the seat held for more than three decades by Levin, D-Detroit. Wait for it... {yawn}
Is this the 52-48 ShowStak Brand rearing its ugly head? Maybe the CD-11 Star Chamber making their move, again? Frankly, I could care less about either - MiGOP record of Romney failure: Lenore (1970), Ronna née Rakolta (94 & 96), G. Scott (AG '98), and Willard (08 & 12). Some folks just can't seem to take a hint. Sure, Ronna Between the Bush dynasty, and Romney wannabes, the Team R interlopers are beginning to make the Kennedy clan look like pikers among the last name entitlement leeches. Good luck with that. As in, oldtimer magic underpants.
The older brother of presidential candidate Mitt Romney is interested in running for the Michigan Senate seat being vacated by Carl Levin in 2014. Just like that damn Bush dynasty with Jeb now flitting about, these clowns living on last name entitlement just can't take a hint. Romney = Still trying in Michigan ever since daddy George created the State Income Tax
Um, no. No to everything seen the above. (4 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
I suppose that true conservatives are considered interlopers nowadays.
Even within the Republican ranks, good conservatives who carry strong convictions, and won't be bullied to become moderate are labeled as 'extreme'. Labeled in ways that are more harsh than what they would call the reversed polarity party of the Democrats; a party THEY SAY that sites like this should be attacking, before challenging Republicans. At the convention as I was speaking with a 1st district delegate and past chair, I was reminded that we are expected to stay in line until fully vested in all manner of the process. Though she would not acknowledge the suggested verbiage of "waiting our turn", she said nothing that would support anything but a path of subservience to the powers-that-be first. "You cant't just jump in and be chair, Jason!" She exclaimed after losing patience with the successful whip efforts in our district. I wonder where she was in 2010? I didn't hear her say then; "You can't just jump in and be GOVERNOR!" to the guy who had WON with 64% of Republicans opposing him. I guess its just about the money. Cause that makes it OK.

As I've mentioned more than once, most recently a little under three weeks ago, back when Saul Anuzis was defending his seat against Dave Agema, he cited a perfect example from his own tenure as state party chair of how the party can and should hold our elected officials accountable to the party's principles. I find that example enlightening specifically because of it's similarity to the situation that Michigan Republicans find themselves in now.

It has to be Michigan...
Schostak, and Anuzis, must've done the "gazintas" for the vote count. Then again, could it have been the creepy looking bur head thing in coke bottle glasses that did the count? Oh! Ya... act like a man, and wear a tie ya slovenly attired liberal Ann Arbor, weenie. (5 comments) Comments >> By Kevin Rex Heine, Section News
The return address on the envelope is familiar, and it should be, though strangely enough no name (business or person) is provided with it. So far as I can tell, this letter was sent out to the entire voting membership of the Michigan Republican Party state central committee (117 people) . . . at a minimum. If the letter was sent outside that list, and how far outside that list if so, I don't know, nor do I think it much matters at this juncture. What I find disturbing about the letter is the lengths to which a self-proclaimed conservative republican will go in order to advance yet another progressive cause.

You would think that, after the mudhole he had stomped into his keister back at the May state convention, lame-duck National Committeeman Saul Anuzis would understand that we the people are a tad more aware of what's going on politically in our state, especially with regard to stealth initiatives aimed at permanently undermining either our individual liberties, or our constitutional protections against government overreach. Unfortunately, you'd be wrong.
You might then think that I'm referring to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, which Saul has subtly pushed on his blogsite at least four times since the May state convention; either suggesting the possibility of one candidate (perhaps Romney) winning the popular presidential vote while the other (perhaps Obama) wins the Electoral College, or suggesting the possibility of an Electoral College tie. Never-you-mind the reality that, according to Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight, the statistical likelihood of the former is currently either 2.0% or 3.2% (depending on which way the inconsistency breaks), and of the latter is currently 0.3%. You'd be wrong there, too. No, Saul has a whole other trick up his sleeve this time around, and a whole different progressive cause that he's advocating for.

My adult daughter, Jenni, is an LSSU senior majoring in Criminal Justice, minoring in Homeland Security, who enjoys Sudoku and word searches, and has as her hobby Criminal Psychology. (Jason and Junior, you've both met her.) We've discussed her doing a stint in Military Intel after she graduates, and she once asked me what I knew about the field. I told her that intel work is often very similar to assembling a complex jigsaw puzzle without having any clue what the final picture is supposed to look like.
What I'm going to discuss below the fold is like that. I didn't start accumulating this information until about a week and a half ago, and an issue a little closer to home has distracted me from figuring out how this all fits together (if it fits together at all). So, because this is time sensitive, what I'm going to do is just lay out what I have here, keep the commentary to a minimum, and trust that the readers will figure this out (if that's even necessary at this point).
