As you know, the EPA is enacting new draconian rules that will have an absolute effect on power generating ability in Michigan. It seems we are practicing our "power rationing" already as this site has been down for the better part of the last 12 hours.
The EPA rules BTW are deadly serious. Stand by for more. By JGillman, Section News
From time to time maintenance on any site must be done. One of the unfortunate tasks is the removal of links in our blogroll. Over time people stop blogging, get caught in real life to the exclusion of their writing and sometimes even meet their maker.
This morning, I started a process which will add to the ongoing relevance of the remaining links to (primarily Michigan based) conservative blogs in the lower right section of the front page. By removing links that are either outdated or simply bad, it will help diehard RightMichigan.com reader see the freshest content and stay up to date without wasting time on links to nowhere. If there are links we should have that arenot included already PLEASE let me know! Below is a list of the links that were removed today. So far the editing has only gone through the "Cs". The following blogs were removed.

Certainly, if I had planned well enough, I could have made it to the island. I really wanted to go.
In the last two weeks, I have had at least 5 separate invitations to participate in conference activities. Each of them more tempting than the last. Maybe next time. And as it turned out, the business needed my presence Friday, and today the funeral for a friend's father. And overall, my significant other who has suffered well through the miscellany of political activities that keep us apart too often, seems to be happy.
The Lord does indeed work in many mysterious ways. As noted a couple of days ago, there was a concern I penned about Michelle Bachmann endorsing Pete Hoekstra, who would not go on record supporting right to work. As expected there was a bit of noise going on in the background throughout the state party and establishment types. As expected it was picked up in a national piece the following day. Strategic National (Yob) who is managing Hoekstra's campaign likely had not planned for the "Tea Party" blast advertisement to come out a day early, as the "official" endorsement was to come out the next day. It did. the "Tea Party" email blast by the way, is from merely another group who likely believes in most Tea Party values, yet is willing to capitalize on the theme as much as it is there to advance it. This site for example will take advertising from nearly anyone who doesn't violate core principles. I get it. Hoekstra saw the writing on the wall. Once again, we will be cleaning up the link fest at the bottom right. Those sites that haven't had any changes in a couple years will likely be removed.
RightMichigan.com is seeing unprecedented popularity, and the ranking for this site has improved by a third in the last two months alone. As this is typed, RM is ranked #102,885 in the world, and has improved its standing amongst conservative blogs nationally to about the 77th spot. (DBKP report a little behind as of this writing)This means we are hitting a lot of folks and getting the gears turning upstairs. And while we are coming into the new election cycle, I want to make sure that your blogs are updated so we can send traffic to them, and encourage you to keep on making your principled stands. But sometimes folks just plain stop writing. It sometimes takes a little more time than is available, and in other ways might not seem as rewarding. But we need to have strong conservative voices seen. RightMichigan.com can help that. Truth be told, Michigan has enough politics to keep 100 blogs busy full time. And many actually are. So as I work this morning on Obama's comments in Holland, on some other recent developments in the Michigan US senate primary, and the realization that we will have starving college students soon, those conservative bloggers who need to get us updated should drop a link or two in the comments so we know where to look. Hey folks, Its not a conspiracy that RightMichigan.com has been down more than a time or two recently. The fact is, with the heat, and the Romanian surplus servers not being able to handle it, the connections fall apart once in a while.
Anyhow, for now, we are back. Currently in the works, are US Senate candidate workups, and republican policy regarding primaries.
The MI GOP has pointed out recently that Stabenow is vulnerable, which gives hope to any of those who have thrown a hat in the ring already, and perhaps even more as time goes by. From a recent Press Release: LANSING - With her record of supporting ObamaCare, the "stimulus," and higher taxes on the middle class, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow would lose the election if held today, a recent poll indicates. ~ More Below ~ (7 comments, 476 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
A quick update.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I Pretty much wanted to remind readers that there are advertising possibilities on RightMichigan.com that can work for you. No one is trying to get rich, but in the spirit of keeping the lights on, figured I would give a shout out to those who might be interested in placing a PAID spot on Michigan's top conservative, and Politically oriented Website. At this point, one could say the advertising sales force has been on vacation. For a while. Bermuda triangle area I believe. The numbers by the way, keep climbing. I would like to thank the contributors who have really stepped up the game lately and moved us further to the top. It helps as we roll into the new campaign cycle. And it would be prudent for those who wish to get a message out to conservatives around the state, and decision makers in Lansing to consider taking out an ad. We might even talk nice about you. Nah, we're always fair about who gets the wrath. Paid ads notwithstanding, everyone has an opinion. And of course only ours matter, so be good. Of course if it turns into a Huffington Post affair, and the owner sells out to the AOLs and Time-Warners of the world for UBER Millions, we will he'll throw all of those who have contributed a great party. Might even consider pizza. ..catered in from Buddy's (hmm Do they still exist?) Anyhow, back to work! By The Way, thanks to C-1st for his report. Michigan's new carve up is not too bad IMO. Condolences to the CD1 rep though. The travel time just increased a bit more. The square miles are insane. New Rule: Congressional Critters should travel by VOLT only. Looking a real challenge huh? Talk to you in a bit. (1 comment) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
Last month RightMichigan.com regulars discovered their favorite Michigan based conservative haunt was ranked 100 of top conservative sites (politically popular) in the country. Right Michigan, a state centric site was able to inch its way into the elite club occupied by Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt, and Ann Coulter to name a few.
I am proud to announce that we have climbed additional rungs on the conservative blog popularity ladder to number 93! A renewed role in Michigan's importance to the nation has likely helped bring us a little extra attention. The Republican resurgence in what was considered by many to be a permablue state might make a difference. But its the daily visits, and added content by all of you that really brings it together. Thank you! Shall we shoot for umm, perhaps 80? By JGillman, Section News
RightMichigan.com has hit the big time.
RightMichigan made it into the Top 100 Conservative Websites list for April, debuting for the first time at #100. It is the ONLY patently STATE-specific conservative website on the list (that we could find)... in other words, it is the TOP STATE-specific conservative news outlet in the nation!
