    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Someone talked me into it.

You see, everything the current president and his accomplices stand for, is about removing choices from the individuals and business.

The latest bit is in the way which he wants to affect the automakers' output.  Like the social engineering the left so eagerly embraces, it deems an outcome without regard to the input.  By simply snapping one's fingers or putting a pen to page a person is made whole, happy, and healthy.  And in this case it automatically engineers the next generation of automobiles.  First we have:

    Abracadabra.

54.5.  FIFTY FOUR point FIVE miles per gallon shall be the standard, and specifically the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standard. As these motivational references below allude, he must be freaking magic.  Wave a wand, snap the fingers, touch the nose, or wiggle the ears, the pixie dust is flying.

Obama 's Hope and Change campaign promise has been a stunning success.  He has given hope to the millions who live off the taxpayer promising them more Obamabucks than they ever dreamed.  He has changed the mood of the taxpayer from 'Taxed Enough Already' to 'Tamed Establishment Apathy'.  With the unconstitutional passage of Obamacare, We the People stood up and cried:  "Taxed Enough Already", "You can keep your hope, and I will keep my Change" and "Hands of my Healthcare".  It is now two years later and not only have many gone silent, some who I believed were on the side of liberty are actively working against liberty and free market reforms.

November 2010 brought great hopes to Michigan. Many new members elected to the MI House and Senate vowed to stop the hemorrhage of debt, regulation, and taxation. Perhaps the greatest hope of freedom loving people was the promise to end Obama care and its unconstitutional overreach into our personal lives.

MI GOP - Higher Taxes BAD

According to the Michigan GOP, the Democrats call for higher taxes will harm the nation's economy.

    We agree.

"Failed Obama Leadership Causes Historic Downgrade; Signals a Need to Curb Spending by Washington"

    From Their release today:

LANSING -- In the aftermath of last week's historic downgrade of America's credit rating, Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak said today that any talk in Washington of raising taxes on Americans now is absurd.

"Last week's credit downgrade proves what Republicans have been saying since Democrats went on a spending spree with taxpayers' money in 2009: Washington has a spending problem, not a revenue problem," Schostak said, commenting on Standard & Poor's downgrade of American credit.

MI Senators Still Fence Sitting on Backdoor Cap and Trade Regulations

As if an unemployment rate above 11 percent wasn't enough for hard hit Michigan folks and businesses to handle, proposed Environmental Protection Agency regulations of greenhouse gases are now poised to offer yet another blow to our hard hit economy. And the effects don't look so very pretty.

Despite having cap and trade legislation rejected by elected officials and the American public last year, the recalcitrant Obama administration is going ahead with similar measures through blunt regulatory decree. The current Republican Policy Committee has now warned that the proposed rules are "more costly than (cap and trade) legislation."

So what does that mean for our state?

By 2030, Michigan jobs will decrease by about 66,000, economic output will deteriorate by an alarming $12.1 billion, and our 5,178 schools and universities and 187 hospitals could see a 28.2% to 42.0% increase in energy costs, which will likely be passed to taxpayers and patients. Luckily, SOME of our elected officials are trying to wake the Obama Administration before they impose this regulatory nightmare on the nation.

But whom?  For Michigan's future, it seems we have to rely on help from a little further South.

    So South we go.

    It's Just One Business

It is good to know that the our ever-watchful benevolent overlords are letting no stone go unturned in their never ending quest to hunt down and punish hardened criminals.

In a state where true unemployment hovers near twenty percent, where incomes are plummeting, and from where residents are fleeing in search of more friendly environs in which to make a living, Oakland Township authorities are working overtime to stamp out the criminal activity of providing jobs in a manner clearly inconsistent with local ordinances!

    Iconography

When challenged at a press conference in 2009, Michigan Congressman JohnConyers' exclaiming that he does not read the bills was of course troubling.  His thoughts?
"What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't  have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read  the bill?"

    Of course.

That explains the failure of congress to manage its affairs in any way resembling a responsible manner.  The folks who we send to Washington have created a monstrosity that is unresponsive, wasteful, oppressive, and straight up unconstitutional.  The failure to read the legislation written by the crackhead congressional staffers leaves no other possibility but high taxes, excessive regulation, and debts that will remain unpaid.. perhaps forever.

How can we solve the problems that congress has created over the decades of John Conyers tenure if the proposed solutions themselves might not be read?

The recent video showing Conyers leafing through a Playboy magazine has certainly raised a few eyebrows.  However, what would anyone expect from a member of a party which has as a core principle the demeaning of women, or any particular group or class that can be separated by sex, color, life choices, etc..  It seems the 81 year old Romeo, Conyers himself may have provided an answer.

He looks at pictures. Indeed the articles might even be read more fully if the pictures have drawn him in.

    Fantastic.
