Apparently some of the protesters had no idea why they were there.

Unions have bussed in their henchmen from outside the state, and its expected to to get a little uglier than this video from just a little while ago..

If you get 5 minutes, call your Representatives, and State Senators TONIGHT if you have their local numbers, and give them support.  Tomorrow if you do not.  Lets get this crap over and done with permanently, or forever have these thugs running the show in Lansing and our nation.

Pete Hoekstra's campaign has made the decision to spend the money necessary to purchase a Super Bowl ad to run in key Michigan media markets (Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Marquette, Lansing, and Traverse City) just before kickoff in Indianapolis.  Naturally, the Michigan Democrat Party is not pleased.

Lansing Mayor and former Gubernatorial contender Virg Bernero is being accused of racially insensitive remarks by Michigan Indian Tribes.  According to the Traverse City Record Eagle:

"James Nye, a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and a spokesman for tribes opposing the Lansing casino plans, said he's been told Bernero referred to him as "Chief Chicken Little" at last week's fundraiser. Bernero apologized Monday but said he didn't think his comments could be construed as a racial slur."

I have decided to state my election platform for 2014 if I run for anything at all.

I am not exactly sure which office I should seek, but there is certainly enough here to encourage from our current elected officials.  Talk is really cheap it seems, but if we can move the levers we'll be better for it, and substantive change cannot come from a legislature or governor that has somehow embraced so much of what they despised under the previous Governor. Unless they continue to despise it.

It seems that a crap sandwich tastes better when prepared by Republicans, if one was to look through such things as raised taxes on Gas, Obamacare exchanges, Light Rail, or DRIC/NICT issues.

"Clown Colors"

That was the descriptive response of a friend of mine. A friend who is, by the way, near and dear to the issue and an advocate for the very things they (Medicinal Marijuana arguers) would like to see happen in the state's capitol.  The tie-died representation of yesteryear's potheads and dope smokers is apparently a hard to kick habit in itself, even in the face of a very serious issue.  In fact its hard to get by the first line of an article about one of the rally goers without shaking my head.

"OAK PARK - Susan Sunshine, 69, traveled with bus loads of others to Lansing on Wednesday afternoon to tell lawmakers to leave her medicine cabinet alone."

The argument is reasonable.  The presentation has not been.  Susie Sunshine?  Really?

The protesters at the capitol are correct that the voters spoke in 2008 to allow the use of Medicinal Marijuana.  The legislature clearly has had a hard time defining in a way that protects legitimate users, and provides a uniform framework that is acceptable to local communities.  Those who marched in Lansing might well have points good and bad, but the way in which they carry the issue has given pause to those considering it from a legal language establishment angle.

The legislature is back in session, Matt Lori (R-Constantine) is planning on introducing the NPVIC bill, and I'm told that the NPV supporters are trolling the halls of the state capitol, looking for supporters.

The only response that I have so far is from Dave Agema's office . . . he will be voting "no" on this.  I'm still waiting to hear from the rest.
