  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Today, the protesters stormed the legislative chambers.

Matt Frendewey, communications director for the Michigan Republican Party issued the following statement:

"The Michigan Democratic Party and the union bosses who have lost political battle, after political battle, are now resorting to bringing chaos to Capitol, the action by the protestors who tried storm the Capitol Building and risk public safety is despicable and has no place in modern civil politics.

The despicable action by the Democratic protestors who were arrested demonstrates the lengths that union bosses will go in order to maintain their iron grip on the rights of Michigan workers."

After trying and failing to hijack the constitution through the ballot box, it is shameful to see the Michigan Democratic Party resort to using paid thugs in attempts to disrupt the legislature. Their actions put public safety at risk, especially the hundreds of activists and protestors within the Capitol.

"Rather than encourage his members to break the law, Mark Brewer should tell his protestors to remain calm and stop trying to threaten the Michigan State Police."

It's been widely reported that protestors attempted to storm the Capitol. The Michigan State Police closed the Capitol Building in order to ensure the safety of all those inside, which includes galleries packed with spectators. Michigan Democratic Chairman Mark Brewer immediately announced he would file a lawsuit to open the Capitol - further demonstrating his commitment to undermining the Michigan State Police and putting public safety at risk.

I have video of the police responding to this action I will post later.

The left is storming the dome.

Unions have bussed in their henchmen from outside the state, and its expected to to get a little uglier than this video from just a little while ago..

If you get 5 minutes, call your Representatives, and State Senators TONIGHT if you have their local numbers, and give them support.  Tomorrow if you do not.  Lets get this crap over and done with permanently, or forever have these thugs running the show in Lansing and our nation.

We could see action tomorrow if things don't get too hairy.  You are needed!
