What do these pictures have to do with Proposal 6?

Just happen to notice that the state House Judiciary Committee (Chair, Rep. John Walsh), is meeting tomorrow, September 27, at 10 AM. One of the bills that is on the agenda goes hand in hand with what Governor Snyder is doing with his Federal partnership of the Health Insurance Exchange. The bill in question is HB 5665, as its sunset is slated for October 1, 2013. Why the hurry, Lansingcritters? Uh-oh... Poof! There goes them DRIC inducing road funds. Pshaw! Like that would ever happen when the R's vote like the D's regarding HB 5665.
The congresscritters we send to the District of Corruption sure have their Big Government tentacles into everything We the People do today. States, you want your road monies back? Then you'll have to create a new level of criminal element on your end for lawyers and municipalities to fleece, and we'll give you back a share of road monies on a percentage of what you lobby us for. Win-win-win. Nudge-nudge-wink-wink. The herd will go for it in the name of safety. They always do. We'll call it implied consent. Go ahead .. do it states, the supremes are good with it, and then we're off to the races with healthcare, drones in the sky, and NDAA. One has to boil the frog slowly dontchya know. It's how decent folk like Bob, end up snared with criminal labels in a legalese merchant controlled world we allowed today. And for the elected class, what else looks better on paper for a candidates campaign than 'tough on crime' propaganda? Not much as its easily swallowed by most. Besides, government LEO's Lab contamination shmamination - Hang him! says the mouthbreathers. Because, of course, them jurors would never ever have a chance facing of that gamed $10,000+ life altering seat when leaving "go team" stadium, or the local public house, would they? Indeed. I'm also rather confident that any highly educated folk out there like Sen. Cardiologist Fatso, will find increased spending solutions for all of the above too. I guess that's the rewarding comforts of folks turning to mother government for everything. One thing is for sure, if I were Bob, I would be casting a big, loud, NO vote on HB 5665, and damn the rest of my elected peers with their central power enabling votes. By JGillman, Section News
Those words in the most appropriate context were used by he VP pick Paul Ryan last evening in Tampa.
When he said: "....that's freedom, and I'll take it any day over the supervision and sanctimony of the central planners"The crowd erupted. I openly cheered from my easy chair. He touched on a point that is relevant no matter whom the leadership might be. The interference and 'concern' over the affairs of our lives is too often conflicting with the independence we claim as our birthright. Some folks forget that we have to be able to fail. That risk and reward is a part of the American dream. That sometimes, our decisions make us healthy, and sometimes not. Its NOT government's place to provide a boost for a business. Its NOT government's place to control the healthcare choices through exchanges or limitations on where one buys insurance or the care itself. Its NOT the government's place to provide housing. Nor is it government's place to control the terms of employment, and compensation that business provides. Ryan is correct. Republicans in Michigan and elsewhere ought to take note of the future VP's comments and internalize them.
Its no longer acceptable (as if it ever was) to pretend the good of all requires the abrogation of certain rights. And to laud an 'knowing better than thou' attitude over those who assert such rights is indeed sanctimonious. (1 comment) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
Thanks Joe H., for that concise sentiment the other day.
That's just fine, because even though you are lucky enough to have made a few of the right votes along the way, there is one issue you openly advocated that puts you square in the not such a big thinker zone. (I'll get to that in a minute) Understood, you have a bud who might lose to such an unsophisticated scoundrel as myself, so I grant a little understanding for a little directness. Out of nowhere you declared how our relationship will start, after I prevail in this election. OK no problem. I have a great deal of respect for your positions on a number of issues other than a sense that you don't much like guns in the hands of young hunters. You don't seem to mess around much, and that's great. Even with some of the PAC donation's I am impressed even that you are willing to buck the hands that feed you. Cool stuff mister. And in fact, aside from your liquor induced honesty on Sunday, I like you. But I really have to ask you about that one issue (below the fold) (1 comment, 542 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
In a comment to a previous posting:
Even the president must have consent of the US senate before entering into a treaty. And if one looks at the Lefty cheerleading media, one might find cheerleading liberal democrats extolling the virtues of our one term potentate. There is nothing more exhilarating than allowing the socialist neighbors to put down a Michigan business that pays Michigan taxes, employs Michigan workers, and spends money in Michigan, right Rick? What did they pay you? Where are the accounts? Why the obsession with giving CANADA the upper hand? 2014, Nerd. Time to go. (29 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
What is it that drives the Rick Snyder to buck the legislature, give the people of Michigan a shrug, and essentially give the finger to privately owned business?
It surely cannot be strictly economic development, as the low hanging fruit known as Right-To-Work is still quite doable. It could not be a concern that growth will leave us stranded with an unworkable transport solution between Canada and the US, as simply adding a couple of booths for the Bluewater apparently eased traffic considerably this last holiday. Add to that, the amount of traffic over the DIBC is still at historic lows. And to boot, the owner of the DIBC wants to build a second span at NO cost to the taxpayer, and has actually done due diligence by purchases of property and right of ways on both sides. No, there must be something else. It almost seems ..emotional. More below the fold (479 words in story) Full Story By KG One, Section News
This week during the yearly taxpayer-funded vacation to Mackinac Island, er, I mean the Detroit Regional Chamber's "comprehensive dialogue this week on innovation, collaboration and the 21st century global market" with "Michigan's top business professionals, government leaders, corporate CEOs, entrepreneurs and veteran regional champions," the topic that just won't go away; a second government bridge to Canada, made an interesting turn.

Randy Richardville will be facing a recall if language filed today is approved by his county elections commission.
The language for the recall must contain reason based upon the officer's conduct during his or her current term in office. At 4pm today, there was a recall filed to remove Randy Richardville from his 17th District Senate seat. The submission was from Monroe county resident and former county GOP Chair, Jeff Andring, with the following language:
"On February 29, 2012 Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, (17th District) co-sponsored and later voted "YES" on Senate Bill 0992, allowing real estate developers to avoid personal guarantees on foreclosed commercial loans in Michigan. Homeowners, losing their homes to foreclosure, are still held liable for such payments. This law was made retroactive to avoid a $2.4 Million dollar personal financial obligation for the brother of the Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party. The elections commission will have 24 hours to assign a date for a clarity hearing, which must occur sometime between the 10th and 20th day after the filing of this recall language per state rules.
