Gas Tax: Be it State or Federal, Schemers do Scheme

While we all await the Governerd's State of the State address focusing on infrastructure, I just happened to come across another gas tax scam the Feds are toying with again, via The Examiner

An on-again, off-again move by the Obama administration to scrap the federal gas tax in favor of a pay-per-mile fee would boost the tab to Americans as high as 250 percent, raising their current tax of 18.4 cents a gallon to as high as 46 cents, according to a new government study.

But without a tax increase, said the Government Accountability Office study, the government's highway fund is going to go dry.

Yannow, for the life of me, I just can't begin to imagine the many reasons why the road funds would go dry?

Anyone up for the Governerd's bike trail from Detroit to Wisconsin?  WDIV's Roger Weber says, "wouldn't it be a blast".

I just spoke in opposition to complete streets in my RURAL township.

Most of the board recognizes the costs in both money and property rights, but I had to be sure.

The "streets" people are pushy as hell.

And the image used for the teaser on the video above shows the great thought in placing bicyclists at risk with the suicide streets schemes.

    This video is a joke...right??? (none / 0) (#2)

Was it just me, or did every clip showing a bicyclist also show an UNUSED sidewalk directly behind them?

Causing traffic congestion while putting bicyclists lives in jeopardy when they try keeping up with traffic going at least 50 mph weekdays (you don't want to go near that road on the weekends).

    Great plan!

I hope that the shemps pushing for this cockamamie idea have their last wills and testaments filled out correctly.

    This isn't about revenue (none / 0) (#3)

It is about control. The more that the Citizen of Kenya can retrict our freedom of movement the better able the Marxists in the District of Corruption can control the population. The Kenyan Overlord wants to establish the same kind of Workers Paradise they had in the old Soviet Union. There everyone but about 1/2 a percent had the same things in common. They were all equal when it came to poverty and dispair. That is what awaits the American people unless the GOPS get some guts and impeach him. Once we are all dependant on the Government we have lost our freedom, liberty and our country. Last night the story broke that in 2013 the government will spend 80% more on welfare programs then the year before. Cloward and Priven are working as designed and implemented by this illegitimate interloper. Time for a change.
