Steal it.
I have decided to state my election platform for 2014 if I run for anything at all. I am not exactly sure which office I should seek, but there is certainly enough here to encourage from our current elected officials. Talk is really cheap it seems, but if we can move the levers we'll be better for it, and substantive change cannot come from a legislature or governor that has somehow embraced so much of what they despised under the previous Governor. Unless they continue to despise it. It seems that a crap sandwich tastes better when prepared by Republicans, if one was to look through such things as raised taxes on Gas, Obamacare exchanges, Light Rail, or DRIC/NICT issues. Below the line you can take it or leave it. That is what I am about. (8 comments, 760 words in story) Full Story By Corinthian Scales, Section News
So, let me get this straight... we are supposed to be outraged that employees are doping it up at a business that prohibits drug use, which is paid by our tax dollars. Yet, we have individuals on welfare, some for generations, which are funded by our same tax dollars that are not screened for drug use? Yessiree. Only in Michigan! "Thou shalt not cut my constituents cash."
Ever the panderer for votes from the perpetual leeches of society, Gary Peters, demonstrates the truest progressive form of using his core constituency as a reason to advance politically. One wonders why Peters, a US Representative would weigh in on the governor's decision to sign welfare reform legislation saving the state hundreds of millions. I suppose he could be genuinely concerned about those who simply cannot provide for themselves because no one will hire at the inflated minimum wages those who have ZERO job skills. I guess that could be the reason. According to M-Live, he says: "Governor Snyder's decision to cut public assistance to families during this recession rather than helping them is misguided and ultimately will force families facing tough economic conditions into homelessness," Yeah, these people collecting it were perma-recipients. In Fact, some might have viewed those temporary support measures as 'entitlements'. I've been around long enough to see it in place, and abused more often than not. But while watching this hand unfold, do not forget the other. Peters first and foremost, is a man dedicated to himself, and his position of political relevance. This is about Gary, Gary Peters, and Congressman Gary Peter's future. Michigan losing congressional seats, and the perceived likelihood that in 2014, the current governor will have satisfied his bucket list wish, may say more than the current statements of this progressive lefty. Its an act. (6 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
Just a couple small things. Going to be a busy week I think.
It seems there are a lot of questions looking for answers as we begin the new week. Jenkuz brings up a valid issue with yesterday's post and how we are going to proceed as a state if our 'Republican' defenders are sticking us as the Democrat destroyers did. Schuette though elected, has a part of his responsibility the obligation to give the administration's opinion in court. However, he can also advise and encourage the abandonment of such actions as the appeal. I'll be talking with the AG about the selection of Brian Zahra for the Michigan Supreme Court this week, and see if I can get some light shed on this issue. We WILL need expansion of power generation in the future. Then.. Corinthian Scales is correct in suggesting 4 years is too long a welfare stint. My own solution? Outsource it. Below..
