    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Residential Property Values - DESTROYED

Another day, and yet another quality of life story on the hidden costs of Michigan's green energy policy.

Local officials and Consumers Energy are at odds over whether a wind plant located south of Ludington meets safety standards.

Those living close to the wind plant continue to be exposed daily to the turbines and their apparent negative impact on health and quality of life.

Allegations that Lake Winds Energy Plant has significant safety issues are not new. On April 1, area residents filed a lawsuit claiming noise, vibrations and flickering lights generated by the 56 turbine facility are adversely impacting their health. Dizziness, sleeplessness and headaches are among the symptoms noted in the lawsuit.

    REST

You know what goes unmentioned about who is making a profitable living off this junk science wealth redistribution scheme? Lawyers. You name it, from them changing a bill originated in the Senate into a tax bill, which is now deemed health insurance law under the Unaffordable Care Act, to lawsuits like this - lawyers win. Jefferson warned that lawyers will lay all things at their feet, and they are too well versed in English law to forget the maxim, "boni judicis est ampliare juris-dictionem."  We all now live that today. Doubt me, then take it from those with a law degree.

What surprises me (and it shouldn't) is that nobody in the legislature has called out the Snyder administration for destroying evidence. Then again, perhaps a reason for that is explained rather well in comment, here.  Still, that's not a good enough excuse for our Forth Highest Compensated in Lansing. Note: "Such legislatures not only cost less; they also tend to spend less."

Speaking of the necessity for a Part-time legislature, it is observed, the always on the wrong side of the tracks Dennis Lennox, stays his quisling rails of squeaky wheel epic Progressivism failure.

Even more JenniRick Snydholm transparency issues via MCC

In an April 25, 2011 email, the head of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association advised state employees to delete emails pertaining to a potential recommendation that Michigan's noise level limit for wind turbines be lowered.

Written 14 months ago, the context of the email was what appears to have been a successful effort by government bureaucrats to derail a pending noise level reduction recommendation. The email advising state employees delete conversations was one of several emails obtained through the Freedom of Information Act pertaining to the wind turbine noise level issue.

"I would delete these types of emails because of the possibility of FOIA requests," John Sarver wrote in the email.

Sarver is now the executive director of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA), which is a statewide non-profit that promotes and facilitates the use of renewable energy in Michigan. Most, if not all, of the renewable energy sources GLREA supports require government subsidies, mandates or both for their survival.

    Rest here

"The Great Lakes Compact shows the value of cooperation across the Great Lakes basin," the governor said.

Entanglements with other deceitful grant money parasite John Sarver types and bureaucrats from Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, and the Feds?

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

I just can't get over this one.

    via FoxNews.com

Wind farms in the Pacific Northwest -- built with government subsidies and maintained with tax credits for every megawatt produced -- are now getting paid to shut down as the federal agency charged with managing the region's electricity grid says there's an oversupply of renewable power at certain times of the year.

The problem arose during the late spring and early summer last year. Rapid snow melt filled the Columbia River Basin. The water rushed through the 31 dams run by the Portland, Ore.-based Bonneville Power Administration allowing for peak hydropower generation. At the very same time, the wind howled leading to maximum wind power production.

Demand could not keep up with supply, so BPA shut down the wind farms for nearly 200 hours over 38 days.

On A Clear Day You Can See His Granholm Moles

Any Republican pushing GreenTard crap is just plain nauseating.

"All of you believe in green chemistry, I believe in green chemistry, it's a wonderful thing," he said. "The world out there doesn't fully agree with that. There are people out there that are challenged when they hear the terms. It's largely one of additional education. It's not about arguing with them about why they're different."

So, repeat the lie until it becomes the indoctrinated truth.  Gotchya, Rick.

In a brief interview after the event, Snyder declined to address the partisan divide between conservatives and liberals on environmental issues. But he said it's natural for people to "resist the concept of change" until they understand issues thoroughly.

Rick's being honest here.  Most folks don't like being fed a line of bullsh!t, and now that they've figured out what a costly lie Al Gore Warming is they have soundly rejected the junk science that has perpetuated the fraud.  Rick, have you taken time to notice that even the White House bailed on you?

Asked whether he believes that people are causing climate change, he said: "I'm reinventing Michigan, so I just stay focused on a lot of key issues right in front of us, but climate change is an issue we need to be concerned about."

Rick, do you feel it when you're flying too?  Rick, maybe see it in the storms?  Yesirree Pete, there's your other RINO buddy sounding like Stabenow.

The MI-GOP is a complete laughingstock among those that consider themself a Conservative.

Upton Should Call On Sarah Palin

Fred Upton got the post he wanted in the House, as Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  Boehner gave him the job over massive objections from conservatives.  Perhaps if Upton cries, he will convince some of them that he's going to be a real stalwart.

JGillman of RightMichigan voices the concern that so many are thinking.  Now that Upton got the post over all the objections, will he do what needs doing?

Judging from some of  his responses to criticism, I'd say that's a definite no.

He said he was going to Washington to repeal that healthcare law, then he agreed to support the insertion of Pitt's Protect Life Act, and Smith's No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act into the law.  That's called nibbling around the edges.  The way the genius Republican leadership has been going, if the acts do end up being inserted, they will become known as the Stupak amendment for criminy's sake.   Why in the world would you say you were going to repeal it, but first change it a little to make it better, then repeal it?  Does that make sense?

Snyder Must Review Wolverine Air Quality Permit

First of all, I want to heap lavish praise on Governor-elect Rick Snyder for splitting the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Environmental Quality.  In my view, when the state legislature approved the combination of the DNR with the DEQ, it bottle-necked the permit process and lent to the nearly 1,000 day wait for eventual denial of the permit.

At the time, state lawmakers were giddy with the notion that they were helping "streamline" government by combining the two departments.  One of our Republican state lawmakers was a facebook friend of mine back then, and beneath her ecstatic status update that trumpeted the great news, I commented, "But, doesn't this mean that when we try to extract our natural resources, any industry will be shut down due to environmental concerns?  It seems to me that this is a windfall for the radical environmentalists."  That comment was deleted very quickly, but I still think it's true.  I thought it was foolhardy to trust Granholm's bureaucracy especially after all the studying I did about the Wolverine Clean Energy Venture and how the Granholm administration worked hand in hand with the Sierra Club and other radical groups.  If you don't think the Sierra Club is a radical environmental group, you have not seen what happened here in Rogers City.

So now that Snyder has said the two departments will be split, it is along that line that I call on Governor-Elect Rick Snyder to review the permit to install for Wolverine Clean Energy Venture.

    Uh oh.

Fred Upton, a Republican from Michigan, is insisting he is worthy to chair the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and has written an Op Ed in the Washington Examiner titled, "Rep. Fred Upton: A new majority for America."  In it, he describes what he will do if in fact he is chosen as chair, and reiterates his manly chainsaw approach to the budget, and unfortunately, uses the words, "shine the spotlight" on the Obama-Pelosi regulatory policies.

Hang on, check the spotlight bulb first, is it the government-mandated type?

After being flogged by conservatives across the board on the banning of the incandescent light bulb, Congressman Fred Upton changes the subject.

He posted an article on Right Michigan, saying, in part,

The American people are fed up and demand that we tackle government spending and the federal budget deficit immediately. The days of the administration printing more money as a solution to meet budget shortfalls are now over.

The American people, including many Michiganders are clearly fed up with the overreach of government as well.  Banning the incandescent light bulb was just the sort of thing that flipped the switch in most people's minds.
