    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

No DRIC/NITC Transparency for 'We The People'?

It's yet another pretty sad day for the "DELE-GATE" tattered MI-GOP when even a slippery goonion labor propped up turd like Richardville is cut out of the loop by the Governerd.

    via The Detroit News

Despite a big grin on his face, Gov. Rick Snyder sidestepped questions Tuesday morning about a possible announcement this week on an agreement to build a new bridge to Canada.

Snyder fielded questions about the New International Trade Crossing after speaking at a transportation summit at the Motor City Casino in Detroit.

"There's supposed to be announcement on Friday? I hadn't heard that," teased Snyder. "All I will say is that I'm fully committed to building the NITC because of its importance to the economy of Michigan and Canada."

    Rest here

Bull. Sh!t!  It's more than obvious that this shady Canadian schemed Public Private Partnership, Chicom and NAFTA entwined goonion labor payola boondoggle Bridge deal being foisted upon U.S. taxpayers by the Governerd, Prince William Clay II, and LaHood just has to reek to high heaven.  Frankly, I'm not so sure anymore that if we all ended up with a Gov Bernero instead of the Ann Arbor Nerd, that 'ol Virg would've been as brazen and as slimy in this unnecessary bridge as Ricky Ardesta is.  As much as I hate to say it, even a lame-duck Jenny the now Wartless wasn't this devious and clandestine when pursuing it as the DRIC.

TEA movement folk, y'all might want to be seriously scouting for a Governerd primary challenger now.

As January 4, 2012 marked the Official death of the Republican Party.

"Governor Romney offers us the commonsense reforms of government policy that are necessary to turn around our economy," said Senator McCain. "His record of accomplishment in government and business are a testament to his leadership abilities. His commitment to a strong defense and principled diplomacy will earn the world's respect for American leadership."

"I had the privilege of running against Governor Romney for the nomination four years ago, and I know he is a tough competitor," said Senator McCain. "I have no doubt he is the best candidate we can nominate. And I am proud to support him for President."

    R.I.P., republicrats.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Mitt Romney Urged Obama to Embrace the Individual Mandate

Had Michigan not been as close, the Democrats would have waited to spring this on us in the general election. Luckily we have it now and I hope Ohio voters are paying attention.

In July 2009, Mitt Romney wrote an op-ed in USA Today urging Barack Obama to use an individual mandate at the national level to control healthcare costs.

On the campaign trail now, Mitt Romney says the individual mandate is appropriate for Massachusetts, but not the nation. Repeatedly in debates, Romney has said he opposes a national individual mandate.

    Rest here

And the MI-GOP Leadership threw away their credibility over him?  Losers.

    Game On, Mr. Schostak

    via detroitnews.com

Santorum's campaign said Wednesday it expected a 15-15 tie with the delegates because both candidates won seven congressional districts. There was confusion over how the two at-large delegates would be distributed.

The committee voted 4-2 to give both delegates to Romney, who won the popular vote in the primary, 41 percent to 38 percent.

Yob said the same committee set the rules on the delegates before the election and now they are voting to break them because it threatens Romney.

"This move questions the legitimacy of the Michigan Republican Party leadership and proves the Romney team is willing to do anything to win the election including breaking party rules," Yob said.

Two messages left with a Michigan Republican Party spokesman were not immediately returned.

Amazing how quickly MI-GOP Chair Schostak can mobilize for their chosen son Elder Romney in regards to Michael Moore, but responding to their vote to violate already established delegate rules?  Nah.  Not a peep.

On A Clear Day You Can See His Granholm Moles

Any Republican pushing GreenTard crap is just plain nauseating.

"All of you believe in green chemistry, I believe in green chemistry, it's a wonderful thing," he said. "The world out there doesn't fully agree with that. There are people out there that are challenged when they hear the terms. It's largely one of additional education. It's not about arguing with them about why they're different."

So, repeat the lie until it becomes the indoctrinated truth.  Gotchya, Rick.

In a brief interview after the event, Snyder declined to address the partisan divide between conservatives and liberals on environmental issues. But he said it's natural for people to "resist the concept of change" until they understand issues thoroughly.

Rick's being honest here.  Most folks don't like being fed a line of bullsh!t, and now that they've figured out what a costly lie Al Gore Warming is they have soundly rejected the junk science that has perpetuated the fraud.  Rick, have you taken time to notice that even the White House bailed on you?

Asked whether he believes that people are causing climate change, he said: "I'm reinventing Michigan, so I just stay focused on a lot of key issues right in front of us, but climate change is an issue we need to be concerned about."

Rick, do you feel it when you're flying too?  Rick, maybe see it in the storms?  Yesirree Pete, there's your other RINO buddy sounding like Stabenow.

The MI-GOP is a complete laughingstock among those that consider themself a Conservative.

    The MI-GOP: Getting Our Percentage

Tags: MI-GOP, 11.2% Unemployment, -48, 539 in Labor Force, National Recession, Tax 'em More Like The Democratic Party Would (all tags)

For a state that has seen it lose 48,539 from its labor force since January, and unemployment rising to 11.2% in August... the Party of revenue collection has chosen to pile on Michigan residents once again.

Bills to be introduced by Republican Rep. Eileen Kowall of Oakland County's White Lake Township and Democratic Rep. Jim Ananich of Flint would move online-only retailers under the same sales tax collection laws under which brick-and-mortar businesses operate.

"This is not a new tax, and this is not an expanded tax," Kowall said, adding the legislation would simply beef up enforcement of the existing tax.

Not new?  Well, it's been noncollectable for the past 12 years.  So, it's new.  It's also the dumbest thing I've seen Lansing Republicans associate their names with to date.  This "bipartisan" scheme cooked up to address what Engler and Granholm wouldn't touch has all the appearances of the Republican Majority being the Party of Greed.

    Bad policy is bad politics.

The Michigan spin machine is about go into hyper-overdrive.

From the department of unhelpful praise, former President Jimmy Carter tells Rachel Maddow he's a-ok with the idea of Mitt Romney as the GOP presidential nominee.

"I'm not taking a position, but I would be very pleased to see him win the Republican nomination," Carter told the MSNBC host, according to advance interview excerpts.

I'd be willing to bet that the Party power brokers at Walbridge, Alticor and certain capitolcritters are none too smiley faced right about now.

    Just sain'...

Your Garbage Pick Up Service and the Wrath of Sen. Kahn-R

That's right folks, our alleged Republican Super Majority Senate has decided that a 71.42% increase on "tipping fee" another necessary tax hike on Michiganders.

The FY 2011-12 DEQ budget was built on the assumption that this fee would be raised by the amounts contained in the bill. Currently, the solid waste surcharge fee raises approximately $2.8 million per year. The fee is used as the primary funding source for the regulation, inspection and monitoring of private and public solid waste landfills in the State. The Department of Environmental Quality estimates that under the bill, approximately $4.6 million would be raised in FY 2011-12, and using Department estimates for the volume of waste projected to be deposited in FY 2012-13, the fee would raise $4.3 million for FY 2012-13.

    Nice, eh?
