Mayor Dave Bing and Gov. Rick Snyder met today in Bing's office with LaHood; businessman Roger Penske, chairman of the M-1 project; and several members of the Michigan's congressional delegation to discuss the issues. Can y'all get over the size of the stones on those like Roger in the Billionaire Club walking around with their hand out for taxpayer money? All of them in Detroit. Penske, Gilbert, Ilitch, and the Ford's. They all talk Free Market, but sure as hell don't mind Socialism when it comes to feeding their Crony Capitalism and Corporate Welfare wallets. Molded Foam, LLC, a manufacturer of foam seating and cushioning materials, announced today that it will acquire a Holland, Mich. firm and relocate its operations to Indiana, creating up to 45 new jobs by 2014. Gov Snydholm, you can dodge and weave RTW all you want, but you're losing your obstinate, veto threatening ground with every Indiana relocation. Yes, I'm a person of my word. Well, that's what the "BIG TAX BREAK" equates to for a $50,000/year income.
Michiganians can expect individual tax relief this year as part of an agreement on the state budget hammered out late Wednesday that also includes more money for education, roads and film tax credits. Yup. More film subsidy for wealthy Hollywood Lefty's, more subsidy for heating bill moochers, and Teachers Goonion payola. (1 comment) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
Now, Big Government Rick proposes an end run around Michigan taxpayers and our legislature with an "interlocal agreement" between himself and Canadian officials.
The Republican governor told reporters Wednesday he still hopes the GOP-led House and Senate will approve moving forward on a new bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. But he's also pursuing other options. Message to Gov Snydholm... It's the numbers, stupid.
The numbers don't lie, nor can you hide from them, Gov Snydholm. (4 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
It appears that 'ol Ricky milquetoast may need to grovel at the feet of his pen pal Dingy Harry, again.
The group planned to develop more than 400 housing units that would be sold to Chinese buyers, creating a concentration of Chinese immigrants on what is now mainly farmland.

Gov. Rick Snyder is urging the U.S. Senate to pass legislation that would allow Michigan to extend its 6 percent sales taxes to purchases from out-of-state Internet retailers. No, a-hole. You lower the taxes on the brick and mortar retailers, and get government bureaucrat fiefdoms the hell out of all this cradle-to-grave mentality nonsense altogether. I be lovin' the 'ol rumor mill today. Oh, what fun... via detroitnews.com
Could Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder be a vice presidential pick? Ya right, don't bust your arm patting yourself on the back, Rick. 5th worst.
"There is that perception that Michigan still has a ways to go," said J.P. Donlon, editor in chief at Chief Executive Group. "We haven't received much in the way of feedback that evidences the changes are yet significant for them at this stage." Actually, Snyder makes a lot of sense for Romney, especially when the Obamneycare debates start in the general election. Snyder is the only governor pushing hard for the Health Insurance Exchange. That should be a huge clue that the GOP heir apparent will merely tinker with retooling the ACA. Wanna bet $10,000 on that? LOL
Now, the ultimate upside for Conservatives in Michigan? It gets governor milquetoast the hell out of our hair so Right-To-Work can be pursued without Snyder's obstruction. Calley expanded government with pushing his pet insurance coverage mandate through, so it'd clearly be to his advantage to work towards the R-T-W goal. If not, then Calley has made himself an easy primary target in 2014. The possible Win-Win outcomes presented are limitless. (1 comment) Comments >>
