State Representative Greg MacMaster (R-105) has provided a little insight to the past year's health care debate, and his participation in the process.
"Bait and switch," a term he uses to describe the promises and ultimate product, is no stranger to any government program designed to help so many. He writes: "In 2012, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development found that the United States leads the world in health care research and disease treatment.Continued below the fold (5 comments, 734 words in story) Full Story By Corinthian Scales, Section News
Just catching up on some reading, and a good outcome caught my eye from mLive.
A state agency says the U.S. Department of Education has dismissed a complaint that sought to end the use of certain American Indian mascots and imagery in Michigan K-12 schools. What should be MDCR's next steps? Howza 'bout your department try living in reality, and stop playing make believe games with the "protected species" card for a change. It would be a good start for this state and nation. Well, unless Malice Sharpton types are the goal for recruiting a new Executive Director. Anyhoo, to the meat and potatoes.
A letter released by the Michigan agency from the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights provided some rationale for the dismissal of the complaint. The letter said the state agency didn't provide sufficient information to infer that racial discrimination has occurred or is occurring. The letter said the state agency "did not provide to OCR any specific examples of race-based incidents nor identify any students or individuals who have suffered specific harm because of the alleged discrimination at any of the named school districts." Ouch! The Fed peeps from this dude's Land of Misfit Toys agenda not only told the MDCR that their envisioned "get to the back of the tipi" moment is a unicorn, but they also told the MDCR their "tipi" doesn't exist too! What an embarrassing slapdown for some Michigan 'professional' Progressives. The MDCR's Elizabeth Warren-esque shenanigans didn't hunt. Either that, or on the Federal "protected species" ladder: it's muhammadans, then sodomites at the top, and somewhere way, way down on the lower rungs is injuns. Considering the actions emanating from the Obama White Hizzy for the past four plus years, that'd be reasoned a safe bet in any casino. Ain't that right, Lansing Democrat, Virg Bernero? Most of you have probably aware of this term.
You most likely associate it with the military making equipment and personnel less visible to detection methods. But did you know that this is also a tactic used in the business world? And if you haven't caught it already, our governor is a business guy and likes to adopt business methodology wherever he can to accomplish his agenda. Especially when he feels that his agenda won't go over very well with the people he purportedly serves.
So what is he up to now? (2 comments, 966 words in story) Full Story By Corinthian Scales, Section News
90 days have expired since charges were filed by Mr. Crowder, and AFP. All I can say is, it's amazing. In other MSP related news, MSP investigates MSP Trooper who stopped wrong vehicle, threatening death with gun drawn down on innocent startled driver to be fit for patrol. I know... color me surprised too. Better blow more money graduating more of those "professionals" to be the armed protectors. Frilliant. (12 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section News
Another Hoffa lives in denial of his thug legacy.
"We're trying to keep my grandfather's reputation back where it belongs," said his grandson, Geoffrey Hoffa, a physician assistant in Arizona. "Most people hear the name Jimmy Hoffa and have a negative image. They hear the Letterman jokes. It's a shame that people don't know more about what James R. Hoffa did and that he always stood up for the underdog." I wonder why the negative image keeps coming up when Hoffa is mentioned...
Underdogs? They're called goonions for a reason, Geoffrey. It's also why Chicago/White House thuggery comes home to roost with the Johnson/Smoot MDP leadership infighting. (1 comment) Comments >> By David L Yonkman, Section News
Failure to heed basic economic logic unfolded in an physically violent way last week following Governor Rick Snyder signing a bill that does nothing more than provide workers with the freedom to decide whether or not to spend their hard-earned money on joining a union.

Although I almost always mean our servicemen overseas, there is no doubt we have others to whom we will be indebted very soon.
The folks who are in the midst of the Freedom to work battle, and occupying the AFP tents. To the high power individuals who stepped up and put this over the top. To the folks who are in the midst of deliberations, and will have to endure the phone assaults, curses, and procedural tortures ad nauseum. And to our state police who will be expected to keep the peace with little or no help from Virg Bernero's personal security detail (the Lansing Police). To the folks at home giving strength to our besieged legislators. And last but not least, to the the workers who have endured the dignity robbing pain of supporting illicit and unacceptable political agendas of union leadership, simply for wishing to put food on their families' table. God bless you all tomorrow, and going forward.
