Promoted because I really want to let Bobby Schostak know its ok to smile.
I have written earlier that the republican 2012 presidential primary candidates' gallery was going to change considerably between then and the filing deadline for the February 2012 contests. (I think that November 8th, 2011, is going to be the filing deadline for the Iowa Caucuses.) Since mid-June, one exploratory candidate (Buddy Roemer) has officially entered the race, four candidates (Michele Bachman, Jon Huntsman, Thaddeus McCotter, and Rick Perry) have officially entered the race directly without bothering with an official exploratory committee, one officially declared candidate (Tim Pawlenty) has withdrawn, and Ralph Nader has claimed that President B. H. Obama is all-but-certain to be facing a credible primary challenge. My, how things have changed.

Courtesy of Ron Paul's campaign YouTube channel, the Iowa Republican Presidential Debate is provided below in its entirety. (2012 Election Central has the same video, though it's broken up into ten parts.):

It's often been said (including frequently on this site) that the real choice in any election is in the primaries. Once the primaries are over, you're essentially stuck with whoever survives. And in the quadrennial contest for the Republican nominee for the President of the United States, direct involvement in the primaries is going to be critical . . . there is no excuse for sitting on the sidelines and then carping because you don't like who wound up on the top of the ticket.
Of course, making an informed choice is always useful, and for that we should go below the fold.

It is ON Folks!!
Herman Cain former CEO, and savior of Godfathers Pizza announced today he would be staking his fortune, his livelihood, and his time in an effort to restore decency to the office of the president of the United states. "After prayerful consideration with my family and closest friends, I have decided to seek the Republican nomination for president of the United States. I look forward to continuing my travels across the country, engaging in discussions with the American people about the concerns facing our nation and sharing my 'common sense solutions' with them." Going forward with this run places Cain among several other contenders hoping to take advantage of the weak presidency of Barack Obama and his (Obama's) push toward a socialist totalitarianism. Cain's message of returning to the constitution is one shared by so many in the tea party movement and those true conservatives who have been wondering what the hell is going on for too many years. His cancer free state for the last few years is a credit to the exceptional health care system in the united states according to Cain. After receiving a diagnosis of liver and colon cancer in 2006, Cain turned to prayer, and our country's unmatchable medical care, and turned away the life ending disease. His official announcement video below the line. (21 comments, 386 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section Multimedia
Up to now, this was not made public. It is a little more candid, and given his appearance in the debate yesterday, I thought it was time to cut loose.
The 'Hermanator' in three parts. (the second two below the line.) For those of you who happened to catch his performance last night you now have an opportunity to see what he had to say during a visit to Lansing in April.

This is the publicly available speech of Herman Cain the the April 14, 2011 Rally in Lansing Michigan. For those who are FB friends, I have another Speech of his from that same day, with a little more content. I would encourage you to see THAT top secret video as well.
FYI, he has NOT officially announced, but is currently in exploratory status.
This man is a powerhouse, has a great story, and is capable. By JGillman, Section News
Heading out to catch some of the early events going on. Bambi get off the road, I don't brake for anything except breakfast.
There will be no shortage of activists in the state's capitol today. Multiple gatherings, and a High Noon rally are calling! FYI it was noted that a number of public employees called in sick to attend yesterday's leftypalooza. If so, it drives home the disregard for their service to the taxpayers of this state. It drives home the need to consider a total ban on public sector unions that not only allow, but frankly encourage such irresponsible management of our trust. Gotta go. See you there!!
