Courtesy of Ron Paul's campaign YouTube channel, the Iowa Republican Presidential Debate is provided below in its entirety.  (2012 Election Central has the same video, though it's broken up into ten parts.):

Evidently, the campus of Iowa State University was the happening place to be Thursday night, and will be the happening place to be Saturday.

On the assumption that you've already watched the entire video (or actually watched the debate live last night), I'd like you to do three things:

    1. Most importantly, cast your vote for whom, in your opinion, actually won the debate in the FOX News / Topix online poll.  (Evidently, Congressman Ron Paul has a considerable amount of support.)  Also, encourage everyone you know, regardless of where they live, to also participate in this poll.

    2. If you also desire to do so, then also cast a vote in the poll on the right.

    3. Please also feel free to provide commentary and critique below.

The next debate on the schedule is Wednesday, September 14th, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California; coverage will be provided by NBC and Politico.  After that will come a debate in Orlando, Florida, on September 22nd; then will come an economy-focused debate at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, on October 11th.  The final debate on the current schedule will be on November 9th at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, hosted by the Michigan Republican Party and broadcast by CNBC.

. . . on the results of both polls, either Ron Paul's really that good, or the paulbots are at it again.

    With regard to the online polling . . . (none / 0) (#3)

. . . that took place during the Ames debate, I found the FOX News issue polls conducted "live online" to be somewhat fascinating:

Do you support a Balanced Budget Amendment?

    • Yes = 68%
    • No = 32%

Is Congress doing a good job?
    • Yes = 29%
    • No = 71%

Does the U.S. need to reform its tax code?
    • Yes = 80%
    • No = 20%

Do you believe we will see an increase in jobs over the next year?
    • Yes = 20%
    • No = 80%

    Do you support tax increases?
    • Yes = 25%
    • No = 75%

Does the U.S. need to strengthen its borders?
    • Yes = 76%
    • No = 24%

Do you support amnesty for illegal immigrants?
    • Yes = 28%
    • No = 72%

    Will the "supercommittee" be effective?
    • Yes = 11%
    • No = 89%

Should the new healthcare law be repealed?
    • Yes = 72%
    • No = 28%

Should the U.S. withdraw troops from Afghanistan?
    • Yes = 85%
    • No = 15%

Should the U.S. end its involvement in Libya?
    • Yes = 88%
    • No = 12%

Is the U.S. doing enough to fight radical extremists?
    • Yes = 53%
    • No = 47%

Is a candidate's religion important to you?
    • Yes = 47%
    • No = 53%

    Do you support gay marriage?
    • Yes = 45%
    • No = 55%

    Do you support spending cuts?
    • Yes = 86%
    • No = 14%

Those answers seem to be consistent with how I think most reasonable, fair-minded, conservative-republicans would answer.  However, the candidate polls were just as interesting, if only for a different reason:

    How is Michele Bachman doing?

    • Thumbs up = 43%
    • Thumbs down = 57%

    How is Herman Cain doing?
    • Thumbs up = 66%
    • Thumbs down = 34%

    How is Newt Gingrich doing?
    • Thumbs up = 62%
    • Thumbs down = 38%

    How is Jon Huntsman doing?
    • Thumbs up = 26%
    • Thumbs down = 74%

    How is Ron Paul doing?
    • Thumbs up = 69%
    • Thumbs down = 31%

    How is Tim Pawlenty doing?
    • Thumbs up = 24%
    • Thumbs down = 76%

    How is Mitt Romney doing?
    • Thumbs up = 27%
    • Thumbs down = 73%

    How is Rick Santorum doing?
    • Thumbs up = 43%
    • Thumbs down = 57%

Now I don't know fore sure (on either the issue questions or the candidate questions) if those were the final numbers, because I really couldn't find any online record, at FOX News or elsewhere, of what the final answers were.  But should I believe that only Cain, Gingrich, and Paul did a good job Thursday night?  While I agree that Bachman, Huntsman, and Pawlenty did poorly, I really don't think that Santorum and Romney did all that badly.  (Don't think that I support either one of them for the top of the ticket, because I don't, but in terms of actual debate performance . . . I don't think they did badly at all.)

Quite frankly, nothing about this debate changes my opinion about which candidate I'm going to support; but I don't think that "good performance" applies to just three of the eight participants.

The biggest loser of the whole debate? (none / 0) (#7)

FOX News.  They've been going down the sh!tter for some time now with their championed registered Lefty creep and other assorted Lefty's Murdoch has recently chose to employ.

Obama good and Wallace to the rescue.

    Double downs on Obama.

    The Lefty Wallace potshot.

    The walk back.

    Another Lefty Wallace potshot.

Like Newt or not, he was spot-on correct on this.  Wallace wasted my time with a zero value distraction.

FOX is slowly sinking among the usefulness of their other network competitors.
