    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

RNC, GOP, MI-GOP, take note at the three minute mark.  Moderate/Centrist republicans only provide a two wing - same bird pathway of victory for the Democratic Party.  Why vote Democrat-lite when you can vote for the real thing?  SB59 veto = One Term Nerd.

The point of this is not about Piers, his bogus "11,000 to 35" stat he speechifies - it's about agenda.  In nations that have initiated a weapons ban as Law, the number of deaths is always >0.  The agenda of The Left is always about: Control.  The Second Amendment is viewed by the The Left as their greatest obstacle standing between them and control no different than it was 237 years ago for King George III.  Recall what was said about health care... it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken, to put the legislation together to control the people.

Those incremental words chosen by the longest serving Democrat in DC, was not in error.  Nor is the enslaving incremental agenda.

Troy Councilman Dane Slater was officially appointed mayor Monday night until November 2013 amid controversy over whether the city must hold an election to name a new mayor.

The selection followed failed attempts earlier Monday by two city residents to file to run for a mayoral election. Monday was the deadline to file.

"I'm not ready to support any candidate as interim mayor until we get a resolution from the state," Councilman Doug Tietz said, referring to the controversy with the state over how the city must choose a mayor after the recall of Mayor Janice Daniels. He and Councilman Wade Fleming opposed Slater's appointment Monday.

The state's elections director told the city in a letter Nov. 16 that it must hold a special election Feb. 26, and not wait until 2013 to fill the mayor's position.

This is the final product that Lansing, and Party Nerdpublicans have created.  When it comes to the central planning schemes using Federal Debt dollars being placed under deficit spending scrutiny locally, the establishment clause of Two Wings Same Bird Party politics will slay those who are not in their exact likeness.  We watched the MI-GOP Star Chamber attempt to do this to Kerry Bentivolio, and they have had their "compassionate conservative" Operation Hummingbird way with Mayor Janice Daniels.

The Republicrats quietus will wear the face of Mitt Romney, and Rick Snyder, for eternity.

Rule of Law - Yes, We Really Do Mean It!

Perhaps the current Rule of Law majority on the Michigan Supreme Court should have this saying etched into the side of the Hall of Justice in Lansing.

The GOP convention was this past weekend, and as several news agencies have reported, the anger with the GOP-majority Justices of the Michigan Supreme Court was palpable.  In a particularly detailed account, MIRS (subscription required) reported that the Justices "faced a frosty reception," although that characterization may be a bit of an understatement.  MIRS went on to report that if there had been more time before the convention, it is likely that Justices Markman and Zahra would have faced challenges to their seats, and that "some donors have asked for their money back from the Supreme Court race."  Former MRP executive director Greg McNeilly stated that he believes the Justices "made a political decision," and when asked what resources would be left for the GOP's Supreme Court candidates, McNeilly is quoted as responding "F--k them."  And this is just what was said publicly; "Most Republican powerbrokers didn't want to air their frustration publicly, but heated words privately, however, have been exchanged."

Don't Get Your Panties in a Bunch -- It's Not Personal

Is it impossible these days to have a discussion about an issue or a political race without it becoming personal?  Apparently so, at least for one backer of Judge Jane Markey.

Markey is up against Colleen O'Brien for one of three Republican nominations for Michigan Supreme Court justice.  As faithful readers of this blog know, your Wizard has published three articles critical of Markey decisions, principally on the grounds that they contradict her claim to be a "rule of law" judge.  I have never attacked Judge Markey personally, nor have I attacked her supporters.

But they have attacked me personally.

Chief Justice Young and the Ballot Proposals

Chief Justice Robert Young of the Michigan Supreme Court released a statement this afternoon discussing how the Rule of Law judicial philosophy compelled his, and his Rule of Law colleagues', decisions regarding the various ballot proposals.  In addition to the Court's opinion itself (authored by Justice Brian Zahra) it is an interesting companion piece.

In particular, Young concisely and persuasively explains why the Court's decision was proper, even if conservatives may feel some disappointment that proposals that represent bad policy will make it to the ballot this November.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Rule of Law.
