  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The Liberty Amendments: Restoring The American Republic by Mark Levin

"It was by the sober sense of our citizens that we were safely and steadily conducted from monarchy to republicanism, and it is by the same agency alone we can be kept from falling back." Thomas Jefferson

So ends Chapter Ten of The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic by Constitutional scholar, attorney and popular conservative talk-radio host, Mark Levin.  The quote by Jefferson is used, as are many others, to call to us for the need to be active and resolute in our handling of the precious and fragile rarity of liberty during this most distressing point in American history.

Levin's book explores and emphasizes the thought processes of those who lent their thoughts to the founding of the nation, and zeroes in on the part in Article V of the Constitution that reinforces the design of the framers; that the people of the States shall have the power to amend the Constitution in case those in Washington D.C. refuse to follow it.

Here is the answer to the questions so many Patriots have posed most recently due to the appalling disrespect paid to our nation's founding documents by those who reach for absolute power.  That, if we cannot sufficiently, through activism within the political process, produce enough legislators steeped in the history of this great nation who will work to shrink the gluttonous beast that is the Federal Government, we are not destined to only trod that narrow path.   We are armed with the ability to work with our closest representatives, turning out our passion for liberty onto the villiages, towns and communities we live in.

    RightMichigan.Com Man Of The Year

If we had already established a long running Man Of The Year program, perhaps we could say we've found a Michigander of the Decade.

He is not running for anything, so this is not an endorsement, other than that of conservative ideals, principles, and his grass roots activity in areas that should matter to us all.

The first time I met Tim Bos, was at the back door of a conference room here in Traverse City in 2011 just prior to the June 30 public roll out of the Michigan Freedom To Work campaign.  It was an organizational meeting that was publicized enough to give us concern that some attendees might not be who they say.  If I am to be truthful, my first impression at the door was one of concern. I didn't know him.  As we started the meeting, any concerns faded, as I learned of his marketing and organizational background, his core beliefs, and the overall skills he brought to the table.

I realized that this was a guy that gets it.  I also realized a serious commitment in the fight for Freedom To Work in Michigan by looking at the old Ford pickup he drove, especially at a time with gas prices climbing fast.  It wasn't the last time he would make the couple hundred mile treks into the hinterland just to advocate for the cause of FTW, as only a couple weeks later he returned, driving hours to offer his three minutes worth, in front of the Grand Traverse County Commission which was deliberating a resolution of support for it.

His words might well have made a difference in the overflowing room; one we cannot know for sure however, but the resolution did pass.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Deception, betrayal, and dishonesty.

These are the traits displayed by a majority of Senate Republicans who voted to implement ObamaCare in Michigan.

On Tuesday, the Senate Health Policy committee passed legislation necessary to bring ObamaCare to Michigan--the so-called "Health Insurance Exchange."  On Thursday, they passed it out of the Senate.

    Frustration Is

    For many of us:

Frustration is seeing an unprecedented opportunity to fix the labor hold on Michigan and watching that opportunity potentially slip away because legislators seem to have forgotten already, the force that hired them.

Frustration is knowing the CO2 scam has not yet been fully purged, and that there are still government implementations being put in place to solve the non-existent problem.  Including in Michigan and even locally.

Frustration is seeing some of the good things like elimination of the MBT being accomplished not by straight out cutting, but by a shift to other victims.

Frustration is not having enough time to offer all the solutions we have properly, because those solutions are nearly immediately eclipsed by the next round of idiotic government actions designed to create more issues that complicate the previous ones.

Frustration is having a skill and not being able to apply it, because of an unconstitutional application of federal law, and the failure of the states to assert their authority, and protect the rights that guarantee the ability to use that skill.

I could add a hundred more to the list

Frustration is not an entirely crippling problem I have however.

A great day half through in Holt, for the Michigan Conservative Political Action Conference.

Multiple speakers from the Reagan administration, and panels discussing legislative action, RTW laws Judicial accountability and transparency in government.  Too much for one conference alone.  Well worth the travel, a day spent, and the small admission that bought a great deal of camaraderie, and conservative fellowship.

I have video I will be posting tomorrow if possible with some great clips that drive home the points we talk about here on a daily basis.

as I type this, Justice Markman is discussing Ronald Reagan.  Good stuff.

Keep an eye out, Ill have more up as soon as I can.
