    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

We figured we would find a picture of Obama visiting the white house when Reagan was president.

But alas, we couldn't.  It occurred to us that at THAT time he was working with some seasoned terrorists trying to figure out how to do great damage to it.

We are thankful for the 22nd amendment.

    Happy thanksgiving folks!

    I wrote about messaging yesterday.

There was no better messenger than this man.  Someone who spoke his convictions without fear of what the "other side" thought, and in the end, captured the hearts of those others, minus only a few who were so hateful, and make up the Democrat party elite today.

This great man can do more from his tomb through great video clips like this, than any occupier at the white house.

I know who my "write-in" will be for in this year's Michigan Republican Presidential Primary.

A great day half through in Holt, for the Michigan Conservative Political Action Conference.

Multiple speakers from the Reagan administration, and panels discussing legislative action, RTW laws Judicial accountability and transparency in government.  Too much for one conference alone.  Well worth the travel, a day spent, and the small admission that bought a great deal of camaraderie, and conservative fellowship.

I have video I will be posting tomorrow if possible with some great clips that drive home the points we talk about here on a daily basis.

as I type this, Justice Markman is discussing Ronald Reagan.  Good stuff.

Keep an eye out, Ill have more up as soon as I can.

OK, nothing really unexpected from what I have scanned over in my free (somewhat limited ) time.  The expected plays from the left and a couple of different ideas on how to handle perceived issues.  I have a couple of select legislative pushes here that don't raise too much on the surprise meter.  Perhaps we will see a few attempts in differing ways to move these first couple along, as they are likely to be shot down (can I say 'shot' anymore?) at first glance.

It seems we are always looking at ways of reducing the cost of operating our schools in Michigan, so lets be especially ingenious and put additional burdens on the schools themselves.  That ALWAYS works:

    4179 of 2011:

February 1, 2011, Introduced by Rep. Nathan and referred to the Committee on Education.
A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled  "The revised school code," by amending section 1278 (MCL 380.1278), as amended by 2004 PA 596, and by adding section 1164.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

Sec. 1164. Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the board of a school district or board of directors of a public school academy shall ensure that all pupils in grades K to 12 are provided with instruction in at least 1 foreign language.

Yeah, I know, we should have language skills..  Lets make sure those kids have English mastered first perhaps?  The problem in this country is NOT the lack of a second language, but rather the inability for immigrants legal or otherwise to speak the native tongue.  For sure he wants our schools to straighten those heads full of mush up, and maybe make em a little less mushy [physically] OUTWARDLY.  Nathan also wants those little fatties in grade school to pay attention to their calorie counts as well.. in HB 4180 of 2011.

Cause kids are just too big..  Like some cities.

Yep..  and Detroit's recent size shrink has brought about a new way to change presumption of causality.. below the fold...

~ Promoted by JGillman because I will be discussing this later as well ~

In the aftermath of the very close MI01 Republican primary, won by Dan Benishek of Crystal Falls by 15 votes, several things have transpired that has tested the friendships and trust of tea party members and patriots, and the movement itself.
