3 .. 2 .. 1.
From MLIVE a couple years ago:
Uh yeah.. So, Dave Camp? Saul Anuzis? And those of you in the Republican Elite circling your wagons around your chosen son? Where were you then? Right. Nowhere to be found. (19 comments) Comments >> By JenKuznicki, Section News
Fill in the circle, don't check it like I did. I checked to show brightly what you need to do. Remember to fill in the little circle like you were back in high school.
First, they will give you the following, if you aren't a US citizen, go home, you are in the wrong place. Fill in the little circle that says you are a United States citizen. Fill in the little circle on the side where it says-- Republican Party Presidential Primary Ballot-- after you sign your name, fill in your name, date of birth, and address. Lets begin below the fold. (312 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
A friend attended the Romney campaign event at the Park Place Dome in Traverse City Michigan, and bought himself a hat.
Each Presidential Election cycle, he has bought a trinket, or Souvenir or shirt etc, and in the past he has bought a few hats. For a moment, ignore the subtle tagline that is Oh-So-Apropriate, and note his objection was that for the first time, a hat he bought from a Republican presidential effort came from China. Saying as little as necessary, this tag says so very much. (5 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section Multimedia
I gotta tell you THIS ad (H/T KRH) is powerful.

Mitt Romney is showing his homestate what he has learned as part of the elite group of liberals in Massachusetts, how to play dirty.
As Michiganders go to the polls on Tuesday, they are subject to a constant barrage of negative robocalls against Santorum, negative ads on television, and a constant mocking on facebook and other sites of Santorum's "Take one for the team" quote. I wonder if Team Romney thinks they'll have gained enough respect for people to vote for him IF he receives the nomination.

I couldn't tell you how happy I was to be able to pull the trigger yesterday morning, and bring Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum to Northern Lower Michigan.
It went of course, as well as I could have imagined, given a mere 30 hours of notice to pull it all together. 30 hours that resulted in a little over 700 folks showing up in support and wishing to hear the conservative Republican alternative in the presidential race. A little over 700 folks who merely had to show up. I have to tell you, this story was already made before the event began. The news releases mentioning the Santorum Visit and the Romney visit later in the day really dotting the 'i' on what has been perceived as an elite planned campaign and by team Romney. The context showing pretty clear in articles such as this: "Both candidates planned appearances in advance of Michigan's Tuesday presidential primary election. I don't pretend that ALL folks will read this the same way, but ..
One merely has to look at the locations where such events can happen in reasonably small towns. Traverse City, MI hosts a few nice venues fit for good sized gatherings, but few have the capability of good sound, video walls, and music. I have spent a good amount of time researching modern environmentalism, its rabid enthusiasts and its choke-hold on the economy. I didn't ever plan to until a coal plant was proposed in my town, and I watched as government and environmental groups worked shoulder to shoulder to stop it from happening, no matter what accommodations the energy company proposed.
So, this video of Mitt Romney means so much to me, and when accidentally finding it a few weeks ago, I dug a little deeper until I realized what a pickle Romney would be in if he becomes President.
"I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people, and that plant, that plant kills people, and PG&A has been given a notice, to have it cleaned up by 2004, and they have thumbed their nose at the people of Massachusetts and Salem Harbor by not cleaning it up on time..." Environmentalists kill jobs, lower our standard of living, crush industry, and strangle the economy. They sue the government on your behalf, using bogus information, claiming to act with self-righteous vigor for your safety. They muck up every permit sought by industrial companies by using a global network of letter-writers and emailers, prolonging every decision, while moving in to each town where an energy plant is proposed, and work to muck up local government actions. Feeding off of fears, they cause paralysis in a process described as "death by a thousand paper cuts." While claiming they know what is best for the environment and your health, they cash in on speculation as your tax dollars fund whatever new green initiative is making a very short term profit. All the while, receiving grants that your federal government gives them to stay in business. And it's all based on lies and fear. (952 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Its Tuesday.
Starting today, all hands are on deck for either Mitt Romney, or Rick Santorum in Michigan. Its been a long time where the Republican presidential primary contest has mattered so much to one or the other candidate. Newt and Paul have no chance according to initial polling, but the statistical deadlock makes every effort toward influencing our voters that much more important. A loss here for Mitt means he will have to have to reassess his presumed plan in life, and perhaps add a "plan-B". A win for Rick solidifies the growth of support experienced after the "beauty contests" a couple weeks ago. Mitt and Rick are hitting the state hard. To be sure, surrogates are moving about as well. Including the hectic activity by Super-pacs in the near constant advertising around our local and cable news shows. Romney will be in Traverse City on Sunday, is touring the state and Santorum has already started appearing at southern Michigan spots, and there is a Susan B Anthony list Bus tour out stumping for him. One would expect Romney to be faring better in Michigan, his home state. Especially considering all of the top name advocacy; Snyder, Schuette, Kahn (the guy who sold out to forced unionism), Richardville (the guy who has Kahn's back)Congressman Dan Benishek, 1st District, Congressman Bill Huizenga, 2nd District, Congressman Dave Camp, 4th District, Congressman Fred Upton, 6th District, Congressman Tim Walberg, 7th District, Congressman Mike Rogers, 8th District, Congressman Thad McCotter, 11th District, etc etc. etc. If Romney loses in Michigan, the super Tuesday event could be scary for the blueblood Rs. It may mean there are folks are vulnerable to primary activity if running for their next terms. It means Republican voters are not going to fall in line so easily and might be willing to look at challengers from outside the establishment prescribed choices. Its a good sign. Tuesday has started, but the voting begins here. (16 comments) Comments >>
