Today, Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop announced that Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Michigan Republican Party Secretary Hank Fuhs would be serving as the Co-Chairs of his campaign for Attorney General.

Its good to see Senator Bishop hold the line on the school funding issue. A Mackinac article by Ken Braun today relates an event at the state capitol that is likely to be repeated:
"S.O.S." members were in Lansing on behalf of the statewide public school establishment, demanding that politicians restore $292 per-pupil K-12 budget cut enacted a few weeks ago both by the Legislature and through an executive order signed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm. For the Merrill district, which had been slated to receive a per-pupil foundation allowance of $7,316 in FY 2010, this cut represents a reduction of just 4 percent. Andy Dillon (R-Redford Township)? In the latter half of this year, it certainly might seem like that is the case. The speaker railroaded members and supporters of his own party by introducing a health care plan that the Democratic allied, Michigan Education Association wasted no time in slamming and that Michigan Democrats all the way up to the top of the administration are "concerned" about.
Then, before the smoke had even finished clearing from the left-leaning Lansing Civil War, Dillon was at it again last week blasting the governor's long-awaited balanced budget proposal saying it had "no chance of passing" and that the governor should know better than to "showboat". Since initially lashing out at the administration, Dillon has seemingly realized that he went a little too far and has significantly backed-off (18.25 mark) from his original statement (READ MORE).
