Tag: Carl Levin (page 3)By Rougman, Section News
The Senate Arms Services Committee, chaired by Michigan's own Carl Levin, has determined that it is just as important that the military attain an enlightened social construct as it is for it to kill America's enemies. (Word has it that next month the committee will consider making it mandatory for forces to stay under fire until all spent shell casings can be collected for a new battlefield recycling initiative.)
We're making a point people! Passage of this bill is a victory for our military, which can now implement this change in a deliberate, responsible way. It's a victory for our country, which has taken another step toward living up to our highest ideals. And it is a victory for thousands of brave men and women who now can serve the nation they love without having to conceal part of their identity.I can agree that this is a victory for our gay service people. On the first two points however, I have a hard time buying in. (10 comments, 762 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
How incredible that on the eve of thanksgiving, with its promise of high caloric abundance, that our federal masters would be talking about limiting the way in which we feed ourselves.
And our senatorial tyrants Carl Levin, and Debbie Stabenow are a part of this plan. S.510 which failed to get traction BEFORE the election is back on the table, and is expected to gain enough support for a vote on Monday. The bill dubbed the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act is touted by its promoters as a way to promise standard rules for consistency in food production and a means in which government can ensure compliance with those measures. Like other grand government efforts it has promise of some dire consequence as well. Mostly for small farms, farmers market participants, local growers, and anyone who cannot afford a team of lawyers ready and able to challenge the best intentions of our benevolent and all protecting federal tyranny. Whats the problem with food safety being advanced? (9 comments, 528 words in story) Full Story By Corinthian Scales, Section Multimedia
It's just that THEY know so much that ISN'T so. - Ronald Reagan
This morning on detnews.com a particular story originating out of Howell caught my eye.
Phil Letten, a Howell resident who has never met McDowell, started a "Support Jay McDowell" page on Facebook. There are about 440 members of the group, and more than 30 people plan to attend Monday night's school board meeting, Letten said. Precisely. So, who is this Phil Letten of Howell that is perpetrating bullying in our public schools? (7 comments, 551 words in story) Full Story By Crippy, Section News
I received an email from Defend Our Freedoms dot org regarding a piece of legislation, pending in the senate, S.3742: Data Security and Breach Notification Act of 2010. This bill was introduced by Mark Pryor (D-AR). The email is vague but from what I gather, Defend Our Freedoms is supporting S.3742.
Here is the text of the email:
At the end for the message is a five column matrix. The columns from left to right contain the following information respectively, senator's name, party affiliation, state, amount of money received from lobbying groups in support of the bill, and amount of money received from a lobbying groups opposed to the bill. Naturally, as a Michigander, I scrolled down the matrix until I found Debbie "The Heat Miser" Stabenow and Carl "Marx" Levin. (2 comments, 826 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News

I will let the reader look up the origin of the term, but the meaning is clear. Michigan has been betrayed by these "representatives." Allow me to begin by presenting Michigan's "esteemed" US Senators. First we have the "you can't replace me, cause Michigan will lose all that seniority" Carl (the Marx) Levin. Serving in the US Senate Has been Tough on Carl. His net worth? Carl Levin's net worth was between $1,396,019 and $3,091,000 in 2007, according to Levin's mandated financial disclosure statements. Carl has done well for himself and has graciously accepted any PAC money that comes along to pad his overly abundant war chest. Carl is a "rank and File Democrat, who voted for Bailouts, Health Care, and Carbon initiatives that have cost this state its manufacturing base. Next, we have Debbie (I can feel global warming when I fly) Stabenow, who has the hand of leftist interest so far up her backside, you can see a ring finger when she opens her mouth to speak. Even the cookie monster's puppetry is more subtle. The cookie monster is also smarter. Stabenow's net worth was between $-50,000 and $-15,001 in 2007, according to Stabenow's mandated financial disclosure statements. Nuff said. But hey, I get only two Senators to pick on. Thank you, God. The remainder of Michigan woes owes a great deal to the following Representatives. More below.. (13 comments, 888 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
when did our sitting US senators forget what is of critical consequence to Michigan? At what point did the fat globules break loose and stop the flow of blood to the brains of Senators Levin and Stabenow? Do they understand, or even CARE about the business and manufacturing communities in Michigan who use electricity as a part of the creation of goods?
If you though it was bad already be prepared for "bad" multiplied by ___<--Insert large number here. Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow had an opportunity to stand up for Michigan, and its economic interests, and the jobs of its residents. They had a chance in a vote held yesterday to say to the EPA, that CO2 is NOT a pollutant to be regulated by the agency, particularly in light of the climate-gate scandal that demonstrates the science was never truly settled. They had a chance to demonstrate they actually are paying attention to those developments showing the climate change "science" to be a fabrication of grant seeking opportunists willing to exchange their souls for a few coins. Let me get your imaginations started on what MUST happen now that the regulatory beast of the federal government has been given new freshly sharpened teeth. The stimulus bill President Obama and nearly all Democrat Senators and all Democrat Representatives want to ram down our throats has other names, more appropriate names. Rush Limbaugh has called it the Porkulus Bill, referring to it's massive amount of earmarks. Senator Tom Coburn has another name for it, The Generational Theft Act.
