Republicans Focus on Creating Jobs in Michigan
MRP Chairman Bob Schostak tours U.P. State Fair, Meets with Grassroots
LANSING - Republicans in Lansing are focused on creating jobs across the state so that families can once again prosper, from Ironwood to Inkster, Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bob Schostak said today after spending time with grassroots activists in the U.P.
"Governor Snyder and Republican lawmakers were sent to Lansing to lead, not to observe," Schostak said. "Michigan's moms and dads want jobs and a stable future for themselves and their children, and a place their children will call home one day. What's better for Michigan families: The eight years under Governor Granholm or the last seven months under Governor Snyder?"
Schostak told Republican supporters that the 2012 presidential election is the most important in their lives because of what's at stake.
"We cannot continue spending money we don't have while penalizing Michigan job creators with more regulations and tax increases from Obama that kill jobs," Schostak said. "The recent historic downgrade is already affecting all the markets and the losers are Michigan families. That's Obama's legacy.
"He is doing significant, long-term damage to our nation's economy, and we need a new leader in the White House who will do what's in the best interests of the people of our great nation."
Schostak also lauded first-term Congressman Dr. Dan Benishek for his efforts to prevent the Obama downgrade to America's credit rating.
"Congressman Benishek voted for two Republican plans to dramatically reduce our national debt," Schostak said. "Democrats, including Debbie Stabenow, rejected those plans.
"What happened? America's credit rating took a historic downgrade, which will now prolong the time and increase the costs to pay off the debt Democrats seem eager to keep increasing. This President and Senator Debbie Stabenow are addicted to debt!"
"Congressman Benishek continues to show fiscal restraint and a fiscally responsible way forward - and that's what his Michigan constituents want."
