Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world out there.

Back in town, sitting down in front of my computer again for more than a few minutes this time, just reminiscing and rehashing the things that drive this trucker (no pun, intended) a little nuts on the road this week.

    {Continued below the fold}

Republican Judge: Taxes do not impair earned income.

Sounds like something out of an "Alice in Wonderland" novel, doesn't it?

I mean what kind of a republican feels that taxes don't actually take something away?

    Justice Markman

    Oh yeah, this one.

Writing for the majority, Justice Markman wrote,

"Reducing or eliminating the statutory exemption for public-pension incomes as setforth in MCL 206.302 does not impair accrued financial benefits of a "pension plan [or] retirement system of the state [or] its political subdivisions" under Const 1963, art 9, § 24; and

Reducing or eliminating the statutory tax exemption for pension incomes as set forth in MCL 206.30 does not impair a contractual obligation in violation of Const 1963, art 1, § 10"

Wow! I can bet that the democrats are giddy with excitement over that one!

"Tax hikes are good! Even your own judge said so," will be their pat response when they take control of the legislature during the next election and want some `revenue enhancements' to fund expanding the state government in order to buy votes for future elections.

It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of this money-grab by the Snyder Administration and Michigan republicans.

I was even more disgusted when the Mi-GOP because of their mutual admiration society at how easy they were able to ram not only this, but an income, and other taxes through the legislature after that fact.

The irony here is that republicans were so successful in their tax hikes, they actually ended up with more money than even they expected.

Sadly, no word yet, on when we'll see some tax cuts because of this surplus.

Even the one person whom I thought would have introduced a bill to address this (cough, cough, Rep. McMillin) hasn't put anything in the hopper yet to be considered.

The governor and Michigan republicans might be content taking the blue pill and thinking happy, happy thoughts to themselves on what a wonderful job they are doing, but I'll stick with the red one and see where that eventually takes me.

    Adjusting is NOT unconstitutional.

Sometimes we take what we like with the what we don't like as well. (Good with the bad)

Ideology in a court cannot change the rules.

As for much of what else is going on, there are only so many hours in a day.

Keep preaching, keep writing, keep educating, and perhaps some more of your thoughts get picked up.

Yup. Looks expensive to me. (none / 0) (#2)

I'd be referring to Markman's and Zahra's reelection bid next year.  The Republicrats had better have some deep pockets after handing the GoverNed partially struck down Law.

Hell, it doesn't even appear that the states premier RINO agrees with the GoverNerd and the MI-GOP congresscritters nailing geezers with new taxes.  Especially during the time of Hussein Odowngrades created inflation.
