Going back over the Journal from last Thursday, here are the bills contained in the package:

      House Bill No. 4361
      House Bill No. 4362
      House Bill No. 4479
      House Bill No. 4480
      House Bill No. 4481
      House Bill No. 4482
      House Bill No. 4483
      House Bill No. 4484

The first three bills in that package dealt with business taxes, the last five dealt with taxing pensions. I did not see anything tie-barring them all together.

Now according to AARP, the pension tax (something collected from individuals and not businesses) would collect about $538-million in revenue.

From what I got from watching MGTV (the Journal was a little vague on this), Sen. Bieda proposed delaying the vote on the pension tax hikes until the revenue estimates were released on Monday.

The early buzz on those revenue estimates is that they are coming in around the neighborhood of $690-million higher than expected.

That having been said, exactly why was it so necessary to even vote on this tax increase last Thursday?

You could've waited less than a week, saved yourselves a headache, and not P.O. a large voting bloc that doesn't forget things like this on election day.
