Good luck, GOPe nancy boys. H/t Big Government (6 comments) Comments >> By Corinthian Scales, Section Multimedia
Priceless memories.
This guy will do "anything" to get the nomination. He doesn't care what damage is done, whether he tears the party apart, or what methods are used.... Note Language Warning Yup. $1,055.69 buys wannabe malefactors for Team Karl Rove GOPe Progressives. As was noted throughout the blogosphere, the above is the face of who pushes Matt Jones. Though we apply a decent dose of critique and praise at times, we don't always officially endorse from here.
History will demonstrate that its hard to do so, without a near guarantee at some point that we eat crow. Some folks make mistakes, and we might even be associated with those mistakes when, and if, that time comes. In fact, associations are often a good indication of a candidate's character, or at the very least, his or her ability to discern the good from the bad. An occasional judgment lapse doesn't define a person, and as well, a minor success or effort does not either. However, we must embrace those who bring the whole package in a productive manner. We must look at the big picture. Today, we start with the recognition that our young voters have not only been misled by current political events, but their indoctrination in our failing public education system completes the corrosive understanding of government and politics. Folks, we recognize the need to concentrate first and foremost on that big picture by stepping up our outreach to our younger voters and activists. We need to embrace them. Not only to rebuild their trust in traditional conservative values as espoused in our Republican platforms, but get them involved as it is THEIR future we are fighting for. To reach them, RightMichigan.Com endorses the selection of Blake Edmonds for the Michigan Republican Party Youth Chair. Blake has been fortunate enough to have had a solid family values background, a sense of self reliance, work ethic, and skills that have allowed him to develop a college Republican organization that has kept the interest of his peers for more than a single meeting. He is willing to expand upon those skills statewide with a realistic strategy of growth by inclusion and involvement. This last point cannot be over-emphasized. Without a sense of belonging, its hard to rally the effort needed to win elections and spread a constitutional Republican message. A history of his efforts point to a likelihood of success as youth Chair. We note the clearly conservative voices in support of Blake as well with Jen Gratz (HERO of Michigan's MCRI effort) Sarah Ledford, (incumbent youth chair) Jeff Sakwa, (2012 candidate, MSU trustee) and Dave Agema, who has demonstrated that there is room in the Republican party for ethical conservative leadership. On Blake's site one can find some quite favorable commentary. Association with these conservative stalwarts, along with a well considered plan of action, complemented by results already achieved by bringing a conservative Republican message to our youth, seals the deal. A last word needs to be said however. for Blake, and others whom we may endorse in the next few days, it is important that he is allowed to accomplish what needs to be done. That requires a commitment to a party environment that fosters inclusion. Clearly, it would be helpful to consider a change at the top of our state party, so that such talent is not held back by a repressive central control. And THAT, We will address shortly. I wrote about messaging yesterday.
There was no better messenger than this man. Someone who spoke his convictions without fear of what the "other side" thought, and in the end, captured the hearts of those others, minus only a few who were so hateful, and make up the Democrat party elite today.

Those words in the most appropriate context were used by he VP pick Paul Ryan last evening in Tampa.
When he said: "....that's freedom, and I'll take it any day over the supervision and sanctimony of the central planners"The crowd erupted. I openly cheered from my easy chair. He touched on a point that is relevant no matter whom the leadership might be. The interference and 'concern' over the affairs of our lives is too often conflicting with the independence we claim as our birthright. Some folks forget that we have to be able to fail. That risk and reward is a part of the American dream. That sometimes, our decisions make us healthy, and sometimes not. Its NOT government's place to provide a boost for a business. Its NOT government's place to control the healthcare choices through exchanges or limitations on where one buys insurance or the care itself. Its NOT the government's place to provide housing. Nor is it government's place to control the terms of employment, and compensation that business provides. Ryan is correct. Republicans in Michigan and elsewhere ought to take note of the future VP's comments and internalize them.
Its no longer acceptable (as if it ever was) to pretend the good of all requires the abrogation of certain rights. And to laud an 'knowing better than thou' attitude over those who assert such rights is indeed sanctimonious. (1 comment) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News

Hoogendyk-Upton Debate #2 Info (3 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
Obviously RightMichigan.com is seen as one of the truest conservative voices in Michigan.
Yeah, I used the word 'obviously'. If it weren't so, we wouldn't be used as the initiation tool for the wet-behind-the-ears punk Republican fraternity, and its sponsoring institution, Sergeant Upton's Lonely Brain Club Band. Because we have a(dare I say it) 'liberal' posting policy, nearly ANYONE could post here. In fact, if it isn't spam, and it isn't lefty talking points, (some people call them lies) we let the conversation stay. It allows for a free discussion, and sometimes it even gets fiery. Debate is good for the soul, and frankly sharpens the tools we use in fighting off the progressive horde. Its the American way. But posting here has apparently become the holy grail for some folks. The very same folks who were maybe once upon a time excited to go to the big city 'Mayberry', and hopefully find the icon with the single bullet in his shirt pocket, now find excitement in our editorial environment. So much so, that we are being used as the tool to try and (do the impossible) convince the conservative base that Fred Upton, who has the lowest conservative ranking for a congressman in Michigan, is the better candidate in the CD6 race. Not through a series of accolades for the man who banned what might be the greatest invention of the industrial age, but denigrating the character of the opponent Jack Hoogendyk through non substantiated claims and falsehoods. And even as it was obviously a hit piece, it was allowed to remain. Our commenting community quickly eviscerated the post adolescent author as was expected, and we did not expect to hear much from him again other than the weak rambling that is so often associated with such affairs. What he doesn't know, is the whimpering his mom hears at night from the basement is really bothering her. Maybe its time for him to move out. But we'll move along .. below the fold. First off, it should be noted, MR Konetchy would have made a fine US Senator, and we would have been fortunate to have him serve if he could have been elected.
He is a true constitutional conservative, and would represent those of us who still believe in the rule of law. It was not destined to happen however, as his candidacy was not strong enough to survive in a full field, and finally a challenge for the number of signatures sealed his fate. I have made suggestions in the past on how he could have better promoted his campaign. Sometimes however, as good a constitution follower we might be, political skills are a prerequisite for elected positions. Dear friends and supporters. I hope to see him involved to whatever extent possible in the future, as we need more like him as a part of the process. (3 comments) Comments >>
