Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

Some tips:

Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Republican Michigander has jumped on a topic I have been mulling throughout the day. He points out how its to the point of distraction with the nasty back and forth with people hiding behind anon type names, and dividing us:

"The enemy is Jocelyn Benson, an ACORN supporting, George Soros "Secretary of State Project" supported, "Vote protection"(who thinks vote fraud is a myth) supported, SEIU supported, Goldman Sachs supported, candidate for the democrats.
The enemy isn't Paul Scott, Ruth Johnson, Cameron Brown, Anne Norlander, or Michelle McManus. The enemy is ACORN, SEIU, vote fraud, and Benson. If we get a Jennifer Brunner or Mark Ritchie clone (other Sec of State Project winners) then good luck winning anything in the future. If I had to pick between a gubernatorial win or a secretary of state win this year, I'll take the Secretary of State win. It is that big of a deal with elections administration. "

My suspicions lead me to believe it may not be who we think it is behind much of the garbage tossed about in the last day or so. I can tell you this however: A major player in this negative campaign is doing it on the taxpayer dime, from Lansing, in one of those little offices provided by the legislative council budget.
