  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

This has been a fun piece of MDP schadenfreude I've been keeping an eye on over at a Lefty blog, which there's no real good reason to name, however, this is the latest mLive newsish meat and potatoes.

First Ward Councilwoman Jody Washington, who first brought the matter before the council two weeks ago, presented the resolution for passage at Monday's regular meeting but later pulled it before a vote was taken due to what she termed a "surprise announcement" from Bernero's executive assistant, Randy Hannan.
    ....

"I absolutely never intended to embarrass anybody...that's what you're trying to say," said Washington, who often butts heads with Bernero. [snip]

    But, of course, Eric Jody

    BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Just noticed the fine folks over at mLive are fanning the bogus "War on Wimmins" flames.

In their own words: Why are there so few women in the Michigan legislature?

Two words provide the accurate answer: women voters.  They make up over half the population.  Time to quit b!tching about y'all gots your chil'rens that come first, girls.  Well, unless they'd like to admit that the Progressives put them back on the serf plantation in 1920.

A house divided will not stand.

-For the first time since 1975, the number of white single-mother households who were living in poverty with children surpassed or equaled black ones in the past decade, spurred by job losses and faster rates of out-of-wedlock births among whites. White single-mother families in poverty stood at nearly 1.5 million in 2011, comparable to the number for blacks. Hispanic single-mother families in poverty trailed at 1.2 million.

Just sayin' ...and good luck with that.
