  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    An Interesting Straw Poll

And it's one that Ron Paul didn't win, either.  (In fact, he didn't even come close.)

Last Sunday (December 18th), the Tea Party Patriots held a tele-forum town hall conference with over 23,000 people nationwide participating.  An introduction was provided by Emery McClendon, Julianne Thompson, Herman Cain, and Steve King.  Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Santorum were all on the call and answered a series of identical questions.  (The links, by the way, are to the audio of the introduction and of each candidate's participation.)

Apparently, toward the end of the forum, a poll was conducted (in which 4,000 of the listeners participated).  The results are . . . interesting.

First off, I'd like to open with a joke.  Bart Stupak is going to be teaching at Harvard.

    Side-splitter.

Bart Stupak is pleased that he has retired from Congress and insists that he has done the right thing in voting for Obamacare.  He made it clear during the fight between him, his constituents and the nation that he would not allow the healthcare bill to pass with federal funding of abortion.  During March of this year, he was on television and radio daily assuring everyone in the nation that the final passage of "health care for all" would not contain the federal funding of abortion.

So many of you joined the thousands across Michigan who let their voices be heard at the Tax Day Tea Parties. Some of you couldn't be there, but know that the Tea Parties represent a growing movement in America to have the voices of We the People be heard.  Either way, this convention is for you!  Our goal is not to elect third party candidates.  It is to give people information and motivation to continue standing up for themselves against big government and bureaucrats.
