Amazing. I honestly believe Detroit has finally lost what passes for the last standing paper with a Conservative slant to it. This past weekend Nolan Finley, took it upon himself to unleash a can of cognitive dissonance RINO whoop-ass on the Michigan Republican Legislature.
But voters didn't give Republicans a mandate to drag the state to the far right on contentious social issues. Exactly what "mainstream" would Mr. Finley be referring to? Governor Moonbeams' bankrupt California? Harry Reids' foreclosure epicenter Nevada? Stanley Ann Dunhams' Hawaii? C'mon Nolan, there are only 7 other Democratic Party controlled states left to hold up for your "mainstream" meme. Mr. Finley, should also note the State of Wisconsin is smack in the face of his next double-down on the Michigan Legislature. More below. Washington is in trouble.
I don't mean a little trouble like presidential scandals, bureaucratic incompetence or the diplomatic faux pas caused by forgetting the birthday of the newest leader of Elbonia. No, I mean a financial time-bomb in the $14.2-trillion dollar range and rising (Thanks GOP for your outstanding financial stewardship with the CR-extension, but I digress). We need to cut spending, like, yesterday.
The DNC proposed something in the neighborhood of $10-billion. The GOP $100-billion. In light of the fiscal collapse coming our way, that's literally shooting a BB gun at a freight train. It's a shame the GOP they didn't take a cue from within their own ranks. Rep Bachmann was able to find $105-billion secretly buried in Obamacare. Sen. Colburn found $200-billion in redundant federal agencies. And Sen. Paul came up with half a trillion dollars in cuts. Of course, with all of the talk about cuts, you'll be hearing more and more from those who made a career on the public teat. So what does this have to do with The Detroit News Editor Nolan Finley?
