From Wednesday:
LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today offered the following statement as the July 4 holiday weekend gets under way: Rick Snyder just placed ObamaCare exemptions (amnesty) to the front of the line over hiring already unemployed American citizens! This corporate limousine liberal has to go. The sooner it is admitted that voting Snyder in 2010 because "he's a Republican" was a mistake, the faster Party principle will be restored and upheld. The choice is yours, but in this state with Snyder and Schostak at the helm - the Republican Party remains dead to me. Lon's MDP team is on equal footing. Or not too late for the GOP.
I am holding on to a little hope that the appropriate response from Michigan Republicans will be to toss aside the taint that threatens our cohesion. For years we have seen the discussion of whether or not the Republican party is worthy of support from conservatives here and in other places. Many including myself have in the past, defended the possibility that the party could be salvaged, and did what needed to be done to be a part of a successful 2010 election season. It was somewhat short lived however, as the establishment parasites seeing something succeed without them then attempted to reconstruct their control based on the 'Tea' won goodwill. We didn't win 2010 so that Republicans can feel energized to pass Obama-esque legislation. Fool-me-once is already a worn out term, and the fear of losing is gone. There are no more chances. A couple of days ago, a prominent leader of the conservative movement opined that Republicans might easily go the way of the Whigs. When Republicans don't act like Republicans, and those who hold principles dear can only feel used, its time to move on. Sarah Palin: "If Republican leaders continue to "back away from the planks in our platform" and the principles on which the party of Lincoln and Reagan was founded, then rank-and-file Republicans with a "libertarian streak" might strike out on their own, Ms. Palin said."And I would dare say its not just those with a 'Libertarian streak'.
There is still time, but not very much however. If there is even a chance that the GOP, and particularly in Michigan, wishes to survive even one more election cycle, it had best see some serious soul searching. Pay attention below the fold. Its time to take back our state, and regain control of our own efforts and skills. Folks here have seen some of my commentary on the issue, and understand where I am on the issue. Quite a bit of effort has been made in the background on this issue so that it has the fighting chance it deserves. The planning and execution of this has included some of the organizers taking hardship on themselves to push for this all too appropriate measure for Michigan. They took leaves of absence from paying jobs. This is important enough for a number of folks who might otherwise have minor disagreement, to come together in this much needed effort. We will need your help on this as well. So note his press release comes from only a single group involved in our effort to unshackle Michigan workers to their unions, and bring accountability back to workers' representation. From the Campaign for Liberty Tony Demott begins. (Note that Terry Bowman, a UAW worker is a point man in this) Also note that there will be an effort to "out" Republicans who do not take advantage of this one opportunity to complete the process of healing the state of Michigan. The pressure will be on, and if your Michigan Representative or Senator does not support what OUGHT TO BE seen as a natural right, perhaps its time they go back to the private sector and work for ... SIEU. We are not kidding. Begin Message:
Dear Michigan Patriots, Over the past couple of weeks, we have been working to put Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville on record on Right to Work. Will he allow a vote? We are not alone in this fight. In fact, we've worked closely with Terry Bowman, President and founder of Union Conservatives. I'm honored to introduce Terry and his group to you. As something that should continue to be on the agenda while we have the chance, I am going to stay on the Michigan Right-To-Work issue. The Legislature and executive office of this state will likely never be in a better position to move this corrective measure forward.
There is no question that Right-To-Work is a part of our natural rights. Nothing says "these are MY hands" like a product produced with one's own labor and effort. The ability to produce without the parasitical effect of false promises from labor organizations, promotes greater freedom, and choice. Freedom that is natural and ought not be at issue. Right now, I have a small request. Call (Or Email, Write) your Michigan State Representative, AND your Michigan State Senator. Ask them if they support Right-To Work, Are Neutral, Oppose it, or 'other'. Calling may be the quickest way, and the assistants, and legislative aides often have their positions available. Be sure to offer your support for the record too! Of course be courteous if they disagree, but do not be afraid to strongly assert your position of support for FULL RTW legislation (no Zones)for Michigan. Let them know they could be heroes rather than zeroes. THEN email me the results to: This particular email account I want to get an idea of who in Lansing is willing to put the state's welfare over a perceived political hot button issue. A small thing like making this phone call could bring Michigan back, and there truly has been no better time than now to act. Please. (3 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
I haven't yet begun the hunt for the benefactors of the Fake Tea Party signature campaign. I will gladly accept any leads, or perhaps suggestions which rocks to look under. However, if I was a guessing guy, I would have to have at least one guess point towards a guy who's name begins with "S" and ends with "oros."
But that is old news right? Not that the press gives a lick about who is funding such things. No matter that what we were able to fight off here in Michigan, a lie that in other states still stands. The fakers who pretend to stand for something, in an attempt to deny the people suffrage. Fraud. One might expect a properly operating government institution to investigate such things. Certainly, credit where credit is due to the board of canvassers and its handling of the Michigan fake Tea fiasco. We were lucky that statutory language provided a technicality that the fraudsters could not overcome, even in the appeals process. The rule of Law triumphed, and even given the two Democrats who voted AGAINST the rule of law in the board of canvassers (those persons should be removed immediately) the appeals court, and a denial to hear by the Michigan Supreme Court shows the "system" is still functional. But being lucky is not good enough when there is so much money inserted into the process by sources that would do us harm.. and make the cost of dealing with it so high.
