  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Animal Magnetism

Oh yeah ..  Joe has it.

The left needed a win last night to make them feel better about the drubbing Obama received at the hands of Mitt Romney a little more than a week earlier.

The coaching advice for Joe Biden surely must have been to:

"Be friendly, and kill em with smiles"
Plenty of smiles. Buffoonery has no limit with Joe however, and it showed with the frequent interruptions and impolite treatment of his opponent Paul Ryan.

The Donkeys that the Democrat-Socialist party produce for candidates lately are certainly bad enough in one-on-one debates and argumentative situations, but last night took the cake.  Joe Biden interrupted Ryan 86 times to Ryan doing so to Biden 6.  Add to this the moderator not able to control herself on occasion doing the same, with 2 or 3 times to Biden, and 12-14 to Ryan as he was making important points.

All the time where Biden was not interrupting Ryan was spent grinning and laughing, as if to say "your message is laughable".

In all the debates I have ever watched, I have yet to see such disrespect for the forum, the opponent, and the public which must wonder now if Uncle Joe had forgotten to take his meds.

Paul Ryan presented himself with dignity and was clearly better informed as expected.  Biden's behavior took away from any potential legitimate answers he could have offered.  The victory for Ryan was more obvious than many in the media will concede, but it was a sorry event if only for its damage to the vetting process.   The Obama Biden team might be embarrassed if ever possible.

    Unimaginable

Though it will hardly stop us from commenting on the daily fare from Lansing and around the state of Michigan, the earthquake saga unfolding on Japan reminds us yet again that we are hardly masters of our own domain.

Our prayers go out to those who been so terribly affected by these disasters.  May God provide some measure of relief for those who have suffered through this event.

Please feel free to add links to legitimate and trusted relief organizations you feel will help the Japanese people, or others hit by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami in some way.
