  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Hippocritical Mass

Mikey, where did all your anti-American Occupy friends go?

Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore sent out a mass email Wednesday warning that the historic Traverse City movie theater, which is the base of the city's film festival, is in bad financial shape and in danger of closing.

"So, the theater is in crisis. A building maintenance crisis, and a financial crisis. And measures need to be taken immediately ... or well, I don't want to go there," Moore writes in the lengthy email.

Oh, the horrors of choosing a Socialist business model.  Eventually you run out of other peoples money.  I've never been to his theater, nor ever will, but it's description in the article sorta sounds like Cuba.  Which is fitting of comrade Moore...

Mike, you are the crony capitalist 1%.  If you want to save your theater, cut a check for it ya treacherous parasite.

Michael Moore On A Mission From God.

Henry Payne at the view, reflects on the "Torch Lake Limo Lib's" appearance with Stephen Colbert and notes the feckless filmmaker Michael Moore is convinced he is on a mission, that he has been chosen.

He is the one to save the unions.  Reports Payne:

Michael Moore told host Stephen Colbert that "because we have been chosen by God, we have a responsibility to make sure we help people." ...

... The Flint fat man was at his socialist, conspiratorial worst, repeating his now-infamous allegation that states aren't bankrupt -- they are victims of a vast right-wing corporate conspiracy.

"The wealthy are sitting on $2 trillion in money," said Moore. "It's our money."

Save the orphanage of abandoned principles Michael.  Funny how the very thing that allows your daily 114,000 calorie diet to continue unimpeded, is the capital you have accumulated from selling sucker's brew.

Michael Moore Incites Children to Violence

This is one of those things that arrived in the email, and as many stories that seem so absurd, it nearly made the trash can immediately.  Instead, I actually followed up and verified Michael Moore is attempting to engage school age children in a way that encourages their immature development to rise up and take to the streets, ala Egypt:
"We are, right now, living in an amazing moment of history. And this moment has happened because the youth around the world have decided they've had enough. Young people are in revolt -- and it's about time.

You, the students and young adults, from Cairo, Egypt to Madison, Wisconsin, are now rising up, taking to the streets, organizing, protesting and refusing to move until your voices are heard. Effing amazing!! It has scared the pants off those in power, the adults who were so convinced they had done a heckuva job trying to dumb you down and distract you with useless nonsense so that you'd end up feeling powerless, just another cog in the wheel, another brick in the wall. You've been fed a lot of propaganda about "how the system works" and so many lies about what took place in history that I'm amazed you've been able to sort through all the bs and see the truth for what it is. This was all done in the hopes you would just keep your mouths shut, get in line and follow orders. And don't rock the boat. Because if you do, you could end up without a good job! You could end up looking like a freak! You've been told politics isn't cool and that one person really can't make a difference."

    What he said.  "effing amazing."
