  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The Official Way To Make Your Voice Heard ..

    ".. in our government."

A Big change is coming to government!

    Neato.

By golly, it appears the constitution matters again to the miscreant denizens of the white house. Those guys have all of a sudden realized that "we the people" are looking at the constitution and have a little better understanding of the document that protects us from them.  I would fully expect that all those petitions demanding an end to the unconstitutional health care mandate, will now be heard.  Certainly, when energy prices are starting peak, the white house will respond positively to petitions that suggest we allow more drilling and use of our natural resources.  In fact they will probably call the petitioners up directly and congratulate them on their successful participation in the constitutional process.

    Or not.

"The official way to have your voice heard in our government"

Think about that statement for a second.  If this will be the official way, then apparently the other methods are no longer necessary or adequate.  The smiling faces to the right will certainly vote for the petitions they like as indicated with another wonderful gem:

"If your petition is among the most popular, a group of white house policy officials, like this good looking bunch, will review it, make sure it gets to the right people in the Obama administration, and craft an official response."

This country is being run by children. In fact, it appears they are soliciting petitions from children as well:
Anyone 13 or older can create or sign a petition on WhiteHouse.gov asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country.

Aside from the dismissal of all those who spoke against the kind of change this chump in charge was pushing, the utter disregard for the protections afforded us by the founding documents has been clear.  This is not at all addressing our grievances but merely an attempt to once again use a catch phrase that might be more acceptable to those of us who truly believe there is meaning in consent of the governed.  The catch phrase "we the people" is still sadly abused by those who have no interest in its real meaning, its intent, or its warning to those who stray from the constitutional foundation.

And the guys on the left wall have done nothing to address that.
