Who are we- as in, The GOP?
Are we a political party that claims Conservative, and then proves it with our policies, proposals and actions- or do we just claim it and then agree to trillion dollar deficit spending 5 years running? Do we actually stand on the remarkably successful principles of limited government, low taxes, and the profound belief in individual rights and the freedom to pursue our own happiness- or are we actually self-centered individuals willing to sell out the population in exchange for power, privilege, and lifetime benefits? Is the grand experiment finally coming to it's predicted conclusion? I've been making continuous sacrifices, over and above the ones required to overcome the results of politicians meddling in the economy, housing, healthcare, and the affairs of other countries- to simply defend my state from Republicans who act just as irresponsibly with our tax dollars as any Democrat they claim to be opposed to. To say I'm flipping tired of it would be a Titanic understatement. Anyone think that's unique? The US Congress is in recess, and members are back home in their respective districts. Budget talks are looming, and the most damaging law ever devised in America's remarkable history is vulnerable to defeat- if House Republicans pull the plug on funding for it. I've been looking hard, and I see only one Congressman who is willing to listen to his constituents in a town hall meeting in Michigan, and that's Justin Amash. But by almost all accounts- he's not a Republican, he's a Libertarian. And is it no surprise that the Republicans WE elected to stop Obamacare are now claiming it can't be done because THEY will lose the majority in the House next year? They may be right. However, failure to do the job they were sent to do is reason enough to rescind the offer of employment, and since the GOP is willing to tie the Obamacare anchor around our necks- they can rest assured they're going down with us. Misery loves company, and revenge is at times, quite delicious. Many who typically vote Republican stayed home last November, despite facing the probability of another 4 years of Obama. Does the GOP really think it won't happen again next year when they hang us with Obamacare, and for icing on the cake- "immigration" reform to boot? That is who the GOP is. Is that who we are? Is that who we want to be identified with? We've lost horribly- our rights, our freedom, our standard of living, and our exceptional way of life. And the GOP has had their hands in it every step of the way, both in Washington, D.C. and Lansing. What next? How's expanding Medicaid, raising the sales tax, fuel tax, vehicle registrations, leisure license fees, and refusing to cut the cost of Medicaid by half- as well as private sector healthcare costs, grab ya? That's who the GOP is. And that's why they despise me- as a Conservative. My name is Tim Bos, Oakland County Republican Party Executive Committee member, and the GOP has been trying hard to convince me that I'm not a Republican anymore. And finally, I'm inclined to believe them.
