How about this for a jaw dropper?By KG One, Section News
Boy, talk about unintended consequences!
As a result of redistricting, and a noticeable drop of constituents on the public dole in his new district, a venerable member of Michigan's Congressional Delegation will be looking for new digs.
And as a result, guess who is waiting in the wings?
With Michigan's population loss and subsequently redrawn districts thoroughly reported here by Conservative First, someone's got to go. That someone also happened to have a "-d" attached to their name.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, as a result of redistricting, 14th District Congressman John Conyers has decided to pack his bags and move into his neighbor's district, 13th District Representative Hansen Clarke, to <strike>maintain the station in life he has become accustomed to</strike> continue to represent his constituents in a manner that they have become familiar with for almost 40 years. So, what can we expect from <strike>DSA</strike> Democratic Rep. Conyers? Whoops, bad example. How about here? Supporting Detroit Public Schools?
Displaying the responsible behavior of his district? But if the good congressman is leaving the 14th district, who will democrats have to vote for next year? How about perennial democratic gadfly Geoffrey Fieger. Yes, that's right True Believers, Geoff Fieger is exploring running for US Congress. My predictions for 2012: There will be one less democrat from Michigan in Congress. We will also see less commercials like these on local TV.
Hmmmmm? Maybe this isn't such a bad thing after all.
