Snyder's Strategy: Wait Until it is Too Late

A quote lifted from today's Detroit Free Press:
Gov. Rick Snyder said he wants no part of Wisconsin's turmoil and will negotiate concessions with state workers, not impose them. "We're two very different states," he said.

Snyder also distanced himself from GOP efforts to repeal binding arbitration for police and firefighters and required union-scale pay for public construction projects. But he said he supports giving emergency financial managers vast power in bankrupt cities and school districts, which union leaders say would allow union busting.

In other words, he is willing to continue on with the failed policies that got us into this mess to begin with, but he will work diligently to salvage what he can after things collapse.

    Now that is vision.

he is walking around this state with blinders and ear plugs.  If he can't see it or hear it - it does not exist.

We see, hear it and LIVE IT every day.

To quote that great political philosopher Bugs Bunny. Our branny new Governor is a huge steaming pile. Second biggest mistake the voters of Michigan have made since 2002. HERE WE GO AGAIN. Is it any wonder I refer to this guy as the Turd?
This state cannot survive another four years of statist stupidity from the Dr of RINOlogy. Socialism failed every place it has ever been tried. Conservatism on the other hand has succeeded every place it has been tried. Which should our less then intelligent Governor adopt? Once again, Republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Is it to early to start a recall against this little statist tool?
Time for a new direction with a NEW PARTY. No more RINOS and Bluebloods. Conservatives only.

..."Senior Capitol Corespondent" Tim Skubick, the guv had a one-on-one meeting with Republican leadership regarding the union legislation and told them in no uncertain terms to knock it off.

Can anyone verify or refute if this meeting actually did happen?

And if so, what was the response from those in attendance?

...to the fact that Snyder is even to the Left of FDR.

All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters.

Particularly, I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place in the functions of any organization of Government employees.

But, it will not slow him from the typical Corporate viper activities of going around the system with EFM's that can shred contracts and RTW zones.  Face it, Snyder didn't get his wealth by accident, he manipulated the system to his advantage and that is the policy that can be expected from him.  It's how he got through the Primary fer chrissake.  And, when Snyder draws too much heat... it'll just be another "reinventing" slogan tossed about most likely by his hand picked surrogates in the Mi-GOP.

The Michigan Legislature needs to be squeezed even if it's all due to the Governor Snyders' Millikenesque agenda.  Right-To-Work legislation isn't a new concept.

Bottom line.  If our Republican Majority in the legislature chooses to roll with Snyders' policy and fraudulent "tax cut" budget, then there is no reason that their sorry asses should stop rolling out of the capitol come November 6, 2012.

Did that U of M and John McAmnesty loving RINO just say track record? Here it is.

Ready for closed Republican Primary's yet?

    Snyder has a plan (5.00 / 1) (#8)
by RushLake on Wed Feb 23, 2011 at 03:45:44 PM EST
RAISE taxes on pensioners. Unfortunately, a lot of Michiganians who ought to know better including those newly made members of the Not Taxed Enough Party, formerly of the TEA Party, are all in favor of raising taxes on anything that moves--at this point that's pensioners.

The rest of his plan is all horse hocky. When the dust settles I'm betting that the cut to public education will be draconian by their definition but, in the real world will be minor if at all. Freeze the state income tax rate at a tiny fraction less than the highest Andy Dillon/Jennifer Granholm rate. Make nice with the public employee unions, say please, then report he's done the best he can with "our partners" the unions. They've decided not to strike and will encourage their constituents to vote for him again next time.

State Legislature Needs to Stand Up (5.00 / 1) (#9)

Governor Snyder is proving himself a disappointment more and more with every passing day.  Some of us hoped since he was independently wealthy and didn't "need" this gig, he might actually do what was necessary to truly turn this state around - to hell with the short-term consequences to his popularity.  Turns out he's as bad as any politician we've seen.  He's far more concerned about his job approval rating than the state's credit rating (among other things).

Unfortunately, it is now necessary for the Republicans/conservatives running the state house and senate to do what Snyder will not.  It's time they implement the legislation required to revitalize Michigan.  Even if Snyder threatens a veto, clearly it's time for our state legislature to take the lead.

Governor Snyder can easily be pushed around.  Maybe he'll catch a clue once our guys in the legislature show him how it's done.

Maybe the Gov and the whatever the hell they are in the Legislature can save the tax payers a few bucks by adopting ENGLISH as the OFFICIAL language of the State of Michigan? This would save money having to print additional signs in other languages and pay to train members of the States privledged class (state employees)to speak other languages. Business would be conducted in ENGLISH only. No more of this multiculti crap. Speak the language or go back to where you came from. Simple and easy to understand.

    Well it is painfully obvious (5.00 / 1) (#13)

That we need to get rid of more of the professional politicians and get more citizen legislators elected to Lansing and the District of Corruption. Until then the takers and parasites will still stand around with their hands out saying " Can I have another? You will give me more." We need to elect more Tea Party candidates in government but also we need to get more people elected to run the state and national parties. It is the only way we can be sure that the RINO's and country club types are shown the door for good. Right now I have absolutely no confidence in our freshly minted Governor. I think he is nothing more then the same we have had for the last eight years. But let us not make the same mistake we did with the Czarina and let her linger for to many days. If Govenor Dipstick doesn't get on the ball then lets cut him adrift and find another that has the stones to do the job that needs to be done. Other governors have the right idea, it is time for the Turd to get with the program or get out. Simple as that.

Never come again in our lifetime. Right now the majority of the tax paying public is against the public sector unions and not real thrilled about the private sector ones either. The fact is in a recent poll 62% of respondents said they favored ending collective barganing rights for public employees. That is huge and you will notice it is the same number that is against the implementation of the Medikill bill. We have a golden opportunity to be rid of the largest detriment to the state and the country ever concieved. We also have the people not only in favor of getting rid of public sector unions but actually demanding it. People are starting to realize what the true picture is and they are starting to wake up. More states will follow this line. Wisconsin, Ohio and Tennessee are just the first. Others will follow and soon the Federal employees will be taken to task. If we don't take this opportunity to act this time will never come again in our lifetime. We have one chance. Hopefully the Dr. Of RINOlogy will suck it up and do the right thing and the smart thing. But I am not counting on him to do anything but the wrong thing. Just one of those gut feelings. You know.
